This question is far too broad and far too opinion-based, and thus off-topic. This site deals primarily with "code". Consider asking much narrower, non-opinion-based questions on softwareengineering.stackexchange.com for "whiteboard" style questions. Come back here when you're at the keyboard writing code and get stuck. — Bohemian ♦ 30 secs ago

The question you're asking has nothing to do with programming. Use of the word scripts does not change that, I'm afraid. This site is for questions related to programming (code) or use of programmers tools (IDEs, compilers, etc.). How does your question pertain to either of those topics? — Ken White 36 secs ago

Sorry, but that question is way too general. There is an enormous leap in skill level required to get from choosing individual data structures to system design to being able to actually implement a large financial planning software project. Please as a more focused question. As it stands, the only suitable answer would be to begin by breaking the problem down and design a solution methodically, hopefully using years of experience on smaller tasks to guide you. Which is really the meta answer to just about anything in the realm of software engineering. — Wyck 1 min ago

@user3900456: use const if you want the variable to be "constant" - i.e. you don't ever want to assign new values to it with say ++number or number = 3; or number *= 2 or similar.... That way you ensure nobody accidentally changes the value after the definition, and it's easier to reason about what the value will be at the points of usage: other programmers maintaining the code will find that helpful, and the compiler may produce better (faster and/or smaller) code in some rare cases. — Tony Delroy 14 secs ago

Welcome to programming with Javascript :) I am not familiar with Cypress, but I (and other Javascript programmers like me) might be able to help you if you add a link to the documentation for the "check" function! Also, try this: open up the browser's console and see if the browser is reporting any errors (which are usually red) in the console. — sina 32 secs ago

It is just bad code, wrong pointer. CSEs were invented to stop programmers from ignoring bad code and leave their program running, such code can cause a lot of havoc when the process state gets randomly corrupted, making the next mishap impossible to diagnose. So no, proper fix is to correct the code. — Hans Passant just now

Questions that ask "where do I start" are typically too broad and are not a good fit for this site. People have their own method for approaching the problem and because of this there cannot be a correct answer. Give a good read over Where to Start, then address your post. — Waqar UlHaq 44 secs ago

okay, it's just something I've come to expect from python. (which throws an out of bounds error)- that's one of those sharp edges of c/c++. Quote from the linked answer: " Undefined behavior is one of those aspects of the C and C++ language that can be surprising to programmers coming from other languages (other languages try to hide it better). Basically, it is possible to write C++ programs that do not behave in a predictable way, even though many C++ compilers will not report any errors in the program!" this must be a common question so thank you for taking the time again. — Nivatius 45 secs ago

@Barnercart Making all functions defined in header inline is going to fix the issue. Whether it's a good practice or not - debatable. Many C++ programmers simply prefer the practice of separating declarations and definitions to keep code tidy (IMO a class with separate header is much easier to read than e.g. Java class). Using too much inline may increase compilation time, as compiler has to compile same function several times, but you likely won't notice the difference until you have hundreds of those. — Yksisarvinen 49 secs ago

you really really really should have made Ilya Streltsyn's answer the accepted one. Ilya gives a "version" of display:none which DOES have an opposite, which solves the practical problem underlying your question, while the answer you chose to accept, in essence, just says "no". Which sure is true, but much much much much less helpful. This is for programmers, not for linguists. — mathheadinclouds 59 secs ago

@SubliminalHash So because your question got downvoted and closed the only possible explanation is "pathetic" people seeking "status"? I think you're overthinking it and the reality is this is just a poor question — broad, lacking details, asking for "correct" usage when that's both debatable and left undefined, and possibly just posted on the wrong site (Software Engineering or Code Review might have been more accepting of this) — rather than people voting the way they did because...that somehow gains them "status" (however that was imagined to work). — BACON 27 secs ago
