This is subjective an may thus be flagged, but it is less efficient for ArrayLists to have different method names then their analogous counterparts in similar languages because programmers will have to repeatedly search up or take time to learn the new method names and may even be more liable to write code with logical errors. Objectively, it is dumb. — cmarangu 37 secs ago

Welcome to Stack Overflow. SO is a question and answer site for professional and enthusiast programmers. The goal is that you add some code of your own to your question to show at least the research effort you made to solve this yourself. — Cyrus 54 secs ago

unfortunately, hardware and software engineers use terms "thread" and "processor" in different ways. Processor threads are processors from software point of view. — Alexei Kaigorodov 1 min ago

@Toskan yes but you are basing your function to use errors to achieve your goal, which is not a very well seen practice (softwareengineering.stackexchange.com/questions/189222/…) — Berto99 1 min ago

What topics can I ask about here? a specific programming problem, or a software algorithm, or software tools commonly used by programmers; and is a practical, answerable problem that is unique to software development — Soufian Chaoui 13 secs ago

The example is not good as it leads the programmers which want to help you into the wrong direction. Please edit your question and write what you really want to do. BTW: Open a command prompt, run cmd /? and read the output help. You get most likely what you want but using start "Example" %ComSpec% /K dir which results in getting started from cmd.exe started by python.exe because of shell=True one more command process executing dir which keeps running because of option /K after dir finished with a console window titled Example. — Mofi 39 secs ago

@user1155120: Your right, and it's an important comment. Programmers entering VHDL from type relaxed languages, like Python, must get used to the strong type requirements of VHDL. The construction is a single dimensional array (1D) array where the elements are records (not another array, even through the assignment looks it like that). — Morten Zilmer 42 secs ago

Thats kinda off-topic on Stack Overflow, which is for programming related question and ones that can be answered definitely. That would be more suitable on Software Engineering StackExchange — Tseng 47 secs ago
