mine too evidently. theres loads of examples for normal physical device rules.
I broke my code into 2 segments, the part that sends key strokes, and the part that gets depth mappings from the xbox kinect. when I went to combine them, it seems to break everything.
Im trying to make a theremin type instrument with a synth. Im concluding that it might be better to just
write a shell script using xdotool to process the stream of depth mappings. although that also sounds troublesome. heres a video, pardon my lack of editing. its writing key presses to the physical key board. https://www.youtube.

This netplan issue is weird - everything looks correct: askubuntu.com/questions/1477287/…
I have a feeling we'll actually need a Netplan developer, or someone with a good knowledge about how Netplan is coded, to actually diver deeper into this.. 🤔

@Videonauth I have an AIO on my system; I have always wondered whether I would have been better with one of those biiiiiiig air coolers. Back when I built there was a scandal with some AIOs failing pretty badly. This one has not given me trouble though...
@ArturMeinild That unfortunately leaves me out on all counts :(. There must be something that I know a lot about...
@ArturMeinild netplan is weird
@JourneymanGeekOnStrike This is an application developed by Canonical? Explains why I cannot find it :)
07:33
@Videonauth Extra issue at the time of my build was that I had a 2nd gen threadripper and there was no AIO on the market at the time that had full coverage of the CPU itself...
They probably exist now...
I have a wierd reason for an AIO
My place is dusty so its easier for me to blow it out than clean a normal air heatsink :D
@JourneymanGeekOnStrike Now you have reminded me to check this computer for dust bunnies :)
@andrew.46-OnStrike I think the basic idea of netplan is pretty good - and the documentation and examples are also quite good.
Aha found it! It was back in 2018 when there was a huge failure of the Enermax AIOs:
But when it suddenly does something unexpected - then you're really screwed! 😬
07:43
@ArturMeinild I guess there was a need for it?
@andrew.46-OnStrike At least I think Canonical saw a "need" for it, since the previous way of configuring network interfaces was somewhat complicated.
I believe netplan was a way of trying to streamline network configuration
In which I think it's at least a partial success
I understand what they're trying to do with it and why..
@ArturMeinild I will add that to the list of why people associated with AU should really be using Ubuntu :(
@ArturMeinild And you have strong interest in torrenting? We are all talking about legal torrenting of course
07:59
for all your linux livecd needs?
@ArturMeinild Oh, its a very nice setup for managed configs
and good documentation. Its not just predictable, reliable or well understood
08:14
@andrew.46-OnStrike Yup - right now I'm seeding Ubuntu and Debian Live images.. 😎
Once upon a time I got movies and music from bittorrent - but these days when everything is available on streaming services, I simply don't have the time for pirating content.. 😅
@ArturMeinild One of the benefits of being old was that I used Napster back in the day when everybody was struggling with the idea of copyright / music.
@andrew.46-OnStrike I remember Napster vaguely.. 😁
A revolution in its time, reminds me a little of the splash that AI is making now
I'm seeding the SE data dumps lol
@JourneymanGeekOnStrike You are indeed a good person!
08:58
@JourneymanGeekOnStrike Yeah, I could seed this as well, when the mod strike is over.. 😎
@ArturMeinild considering the history of it there's no need to wait
I'm seeding it cause the company didn't release it until people complained
@ArturMeinild I am still a little horrified that the strike and negotiations are still ongoing
09:20
Yeah it's strange - it seems there was some things going on, but the Phillippe wasn't available last week
