@karel You mentioned on this question that you can fix it by doing terminal commands. I didn't know you could access the terminal during the installer. How do you do that? Does the normal TTY shortcut work?

@cocomac You don't need to access anything from the installer. In fact you can even close the installer because it won't work if some other processes is locking apt. Just run the commands from the terminal to kill the locked processes.

Vote To Reopen This question is 10 years old and was closed 5 years ago as "too broad". There are several Git clients in the Software app to choose from now without going far afield, so I recommend that this question be reopened. Some of the existing answers could be updated.
