@heynnema when you have discussions in comments and you are going back and forth and posting a lot, USUALLY it will display above the chat box "Comments are not for extended discussions, consider moving this to chat" with a link that will create the chat room and invite you and relevant users.

that or similar text.

You should then click that link

it'll autopopulate a comment saying "Let us continue this discussion in chat" with a link to the chat room

and access permissions will be handled appropriately.

the mobile client doesn't have this functionality but the website clients do.

I have told you all this in the past yet you are the single most flagged case of constantly using endless discussion chains for troubleshooting with > 20 comments. (And this is autoflagged by the system)

@ThomasWard I didn't ask for a public beating about this... I asked you how to manually move to chat when the system doesn't prompt you with "Comments are not for extended discussions, consider moving this to chat".

it actually does

that's not a public beating that's me telling you the system will prompt you to move it to chat when you get to an extended discussion level

then it'll automatically create the chat room when you click the link to move the discussion to chat.

the same facility that moderators use is different but underneath the hood it should be the same functionality

(1) create room

(2) copy comments

(3) link in comments

(4) users go over to chat to continue discussion

this was too long to fix INTO a comment however, so...
