:)

Planning on upgrading soon
I want to keep the old machine as a beefier personal server thought
Maybe play with a few low cost upgrades

I would not been able to stem the upgrade myself so I guess I'm luck to have such friends.

Since a week or so my Firefox does not have Ubuntu window decorations:
Any idea what could be causing this?
I remember configuring Firefox to not show the tabs toolbar (because I use "Tree Style Tab" instead) but I don't remember doing anything related to window decorations.

TimI have to install samba server on Lubuntu by sudo apt install samba But is it correct that I don't have to install samba client on Lubuntu, because I can type smb://192.168.1.198 on the address bar of file manager (e.g. pcmanfm), and connect to samba server? Q: Is there a file that always exists and a 'normal' user can't lstat it?

Crouching KittenI need this for a unit test. There's a function, which does lstat on the file path passed in its parameter. I have to trigger the code path when the lstat fails. (Because the code coverage has to reach 90%) The test can run only under a single user, therefore I was thinking if there's a file in ...

Q: Ask and then answer one's own question on AskUbuntu?

CraigI ask this question with the idea that this may be a way to pass along experience with configuring an ubuntu system. I have recently gone through a process and think that if I can properly ask and then answer a question, it may be helpful to others on AskUbuntu dealing with a similar situation....

Welcome to AskUbuntu. I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because I think that this question should be asked on other platforms as AskUbuntu, It is not a problem where this sites users are able to help with nor being able to produce an answer which is helping others in the future. — Videonauth 28 mins ago

Q: Why does the little help box call them "backticks" when they're graves?

Blue-Maned HawkI've noticed that when the little help box appears to the side, it says to show code using "backticks" when they are called graves. For clarification, I am talking about these: `. I don't think that these should be called backticks.
