Q: Ubuntu Studio 19.04. I am getting feedback and a hum when I stop playing music. Any suggestions?

RichardI just upgraded from Ubuntu Studio 18.04 to 19.04. When I stop playing music with any music player I get a hum from the speakers or a loud feedback sound. This just started after my upgrade. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

After some months of testing (even forgot it was there) I still consider the following function a good idea. If you try to cd into a non-existent directory, this silently creates it for you instead of just throwing an error. What do you think?
cd () { if ! command cd "$1" 2>/dev/null; then mkdir "$1" && command cd "$1"; fi ;}

with the typos my co-workers make I would end up cleaning the filesystem more than I want :D I'd do it the other way: do a mkdir -p and then autom. cd into it :=D
oh and you only create 1 level :=) cd 1/2/3/4/ errors out >:)

this is by design exactly because of typos :)
you definitely don’t want to cd into it every time you create a dir (tree), but you always want to create that dir you want to cd into

Jake Nixon I have a question about my Ask Ubuntu post: In Windows Terminal running Ubuntu, how can I make the default directory be ~ (/home/jake) instead of / (root)? Someone commented on my question and told me to edit my post without adding a comment reply. The instructions that I received from them...
