i was able to get my memory chips in order

now when i do a ls it hangs

it says something like inode something

pwd works

but ls just hangs

why is the file system not responding ?

You can't run .exe files on Linux. (Technically speaking you can though WINE...) Linux software is installed though apt, or through .deb files. To install W10, you'll need to download the .iso file and use Brasero to burn it to a DVD.

i want a find and then i pipe to cat and then i grep for a pattern

that's if you want to find them

i ran photorec for 1 day continously

OK ?

i only had 32 % full before that

now it is 67 % full

on /dev/sda1

there are a hell of lot of recovered files from over 2 years

and when i ran photorec the disk was making a lot of noise

now it is cooled down

occasionally the system froze during the running of phototec

and i could not logout

now it is responding again
