Darn, yeah, they got bolder when I hit "Save for web"

Use the same blue in the logo (or no blue at all): rest looks cool, professional,

user139252
@Fabby Use the blue for the Wordpress icon?

@TheBrownOne Are you yanking my chain?
(looks better now) and I was talking about:

Ah, yeah. I was having trouble matching it, too lazy to look back into the CSS :P

user139252
I ended up going back to CSS for the blue though, to get it right.

Ah! So you were yanking my chain! (I though my eyes were failing me)
:P

user139252
I'm just going to a different WP logo all together..

I can't get that one smooth in a PNG the way it looks in my PSD

@TheBrownOne lower the compression when saving or use SVG for vector-graphics...

Q: editing user's posts

Kalamalka KidI recently was editing a post for grammatical and formatting errors, but also noticed that the post seemed to contain lots of useless information that was completely impertinent to the user's question. Omitting this stuff would have been useful, but I wasn't sure about editing it, so I left it. ...

@KalamalkaKid: Where's the post you were talking about?

InternautBefore I dive in to Ubuntu, and spend all the time reading and learning what I can, I prefer to use my own computer to store my stuff. Ubuntu's warning at the bottom of the browser stating Ubuntu uses cookies, for my benefit; sounds like Microsoft - not Open Source. Does one have to use the cloud...

@Serg It has... Both from me and muru. But on a second thought perhaps it should be off-topic here.

@kos fair enough, it's about general regex. The way i see it it's still relevant, because lots of programs on Ubuntu use regex, hence tangentially relevant
@hbdgaf what do you think ? ^

Q: Adding a second GPU greatly reduces my graphics performance

Duncan MarshallI'm currently running Ubuntu 15 desktop with an ATI R9 390 and a 4k monitor via display port. Everything runs smoothly. I have a second monitor which is VGA-only, and since the R9 has no VGA ports, I've added a Radeon HD 5770, and plugged in the second screen there. Ubuntu detects the new GPU ...

@Serg So I can just have one and forget about the order plus a full nmap port scan takes very long scanning my home router the bot is back

@HenryWHHack well you have to use different options there. For example, nmap -sT -T4 -n is pretty good scan
-n no dns lookup
-T4 moderate speed
-sT TCP scan
kind of like what browsers and apps do . . .
Read up on the documentation. There's also videos on youtube

Prof Zhu,

I regret to inform you that I cannot attend your Tuesday CS-1400 lecture at 8 am due to sickness. I currently experience whole body weakness, irritated air passageways, and strong loud cough, which drives me to almost headache. It is better for myself and other students that I get back to at least decent level of health first; i don't want to infect other students, more less - disrupt lecture with my cough.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience my absence may have caused.

That's my mild way of saying " I feel like s#!t and cough like old dog barking"

@Serg copied that just in case i need it myself XD

7:33 AM

not bash

@Serg nope. you are a "coder". A programmer technically only writes software diagrams

@Rinzwind UML ?
Aren't those terms supposed to be synonymous ?

@Serg that's pretty cool although the grammar in that article is atrocious and a lot of the terminology is incorrect.

@kos I tried $text = preg_replace ('/<\\s*?hr\\s*?/?\\s*?>.*/i', '', $text); but now the entire section is just empty.

When I comment that line out, I see the text and it has an <hr> tag inside it.

MORNING EVERYONE!

But with that line running, it's just empty.
@HenryWHHack No need to say good morning, we already met today. :)

kos
8:47 AM
@ByteCommander There were caveats with preg_replace()... Let me see if I can recall them. Does it work with a simpler pattern BTW? How about just <hr>.* on an hard-coded string?
(also are you sure you need to escape \s?)

$text = "Title<hr>Some more text...";
$text = wp_strip_all_tags( $text, false, '<hr><hr/>');
$text = preg_replace ('/<hr>.*/i', '', $text);
This works. now I only see "Title" on the site.

kos
@ByteCommander Ah found it, you forgot to escape the slash: $text = preg_replace ('/<\\s*?hr\\s*?\/?\\s*?>.*/i', '', $text); (and I don't think you need to escape \s)

Nope, still not. Now it works with the simple hard string, but not with the real text.

kos
What's the real text?

Is sql boring?

8:54 AM
The Wordpress editor produces a <hr /> tag in it.

Good morning :)

kos
There's also another problem, you don't want the ? after the slash: $text = preg_replace ('/<\s*?hr\s*?\/\s*?>.*/i', '', $text);

Okay, actually the long regex doesn't work at all, even with a simple hardcoded string.

kos
Morning @cl-netbox o/

@kos Good morning kos ! :)

8:58 AM
Uhm... Why? It can be <hr> or <hr/> or <hr /> or anything similar.
@cl-netbox Hey!

@ByteCommander Good morning ! :)

Sigh... I think I have to ask Stack Overflow about that...

kos
@ByteCommander Yeah, I just assumed it was self-enclosing by definition.
Let me fire up PHP.
@ByteCommander Works for me:
php > $text = "Text <br /> delete this";
php > $text = preg_replace('/<\s*?br\s*?\/\s*?>.*/i', '', $text);
php > print($text);
Text
(mixed <hr /> with <br /> but that's irrelevant)

@ByteCommander :)

'/<\\s*?hr\\s*?\\/?\\s*?>.*/i'
Yeah. I had a nasty space in there where it might not have been.
