12:13 AM
@Zanna the post says "thanks i think it worked", so no repro?

12:29 AM
Do I have to wait until tomorrow to have my donuts?

12:59 AM
shit, I got something in my eye in the way home, now I feel like there's still something there everytime I move it, it's so red if I walked on the street I would probably be stopped and frisked

You need one of my donuts

I need a donut.

@NathanOsman take a look at the screen shot :-D

auto correct went rogue btw...

1:10 AM
I found a solution for the irritation in my eye
I just have to never blink again

@IanC Visine...lol

I used some eye drops, didn't work
I'll probably try to sleep earlier to see if the irritation goes away until tomorrow
I think it's gone O.O
I'm blinking and it's all good all of a sudden

ew it's cold outside
i dun wanna wintor

it's really hot here
but I do prefer hot days than really cold winters

me too
but i don't like bugs in summer, they're everywhere in summer

1:21 AM
not many mosquitoes there right?

@Serg I agree...

man, I'm in a bit of a bad mood today
I was about to close the deal on the girls place, but some guys I talked to reached me out, and their room was much cheaper, so I thought about going there to talk to them and see if it would work out
so there I go, I talk with the guys that live there. All good, they ask me if they can give me an answer on the weekend. I said that I was about to close the deal with the girl, so if they could give me an answer ASAP it would be better, and the guy is like "Oh, it's pretty much a go, they just need to talk to their parents and we reach you"
at the same time the girl starts to pressure me if I'm closing the deal with her, I postponed the answer to the weekend, so today I reach them out and ask if they have an answer, and they are like, "they will call their parents, can we tell you tonight?" (like wtf, are they sending fuc**** letters to their parents? Should have seen it coming)

Chat script is fixed.

so I wait, and when I'm coming back from an job, I see a message like "Thank you for coming by, we closed the deal with a friend of one of the guys here. Good luck on finding a place"
and I'm like, "you could at least be honest that you're talking to somebody else, you told me it was pretty much set and I almost screwed another deal waiting for an answer"
and they "sorry that I made it look that way", and I "that's childish, but alright. bye" (should have been a little more harsh, like saying I was going to throw some dogshit on his house or something..)

and here I am, now trying to close the deal with the girl, if it doesn't work I'll just move to my workplace, live sleeping in a wooden table

@IanC is she hot?

after the whole story that's what you're curious about? lol
well, she is actually

then close the deal already...

lol
she is a otaku (is that the word?), like, she does cosplays and work with it I think
has 2 cats, go to ocean biology college (I guess)
and that's pretty much all I know about her

Is this common?
Three sets of twins? https://t.co/46XGKrcFvJ

I think you just won the lottery of eggs

Yay!

2:31 AM
@IanC I think otaku is for male , japanese language is supposed to have something similar for female
Meanwhile, Serg is procrastinating with new github repo github.com/SergKolo/ayatana-indicator
I think this indicator is stable enough to be released so . . . here it is, version 0.1
Any comments on the UI ? Anything I should improve ?
em . . wait , screenshot . . .

2:50 AM
@Serg what are your goals on this indicator? The UI seems good, you could do the same you did on udisks to get the information aligned on the submenus

@IanC the goal is to show list of open apps, and each submenu is list of windows for that app. Plus extra info, like PID, XID, what workspace and monitor this window occupies, and whether or not that's the currently active one
clicking on any window menu-entry will raise that window

cool, it's looking good so far :)

Will need to work on the icons a little. I've noticed my terminal icon doesn't show under Adwaita theme

Q: Happy Oli♦ Day 2016!

Nathan OsmanIn case you are wondering what this is all about, I'll direct you to this related question: A happy Oli♦ day! Basically, we are celebrating our beloved moderator Oli. It's not his birthday, as since rumors suggest, but rather the anniversary of his becoming an Ubuntu member. Or to put it another...

it's 12th November here now, I think I missed the party :/

i wanted to change my pic too, but i got too late to AskUbuntu tonight

Why is someone sending me an email asking me to review Macbook batteries...?
I don't have a Macbook.
@IanC I should have started this last night.

gosh, i need my energy back. I wanna be a normal human again

@NathanOsman say yes, you'll gladly accept a macbook and some batteries from them to test.

How can I test them?

there's a place that makes it with brown ricemilk
Not bad, other than the stuff being the sort of thing you need to grump down with a pint ;p

@JourneymanGeek mmmm sounds fantastic
there is a vegan ice cream parlour in London called Yorica! that make everything with rice milk - they have like 10 flavours and 4 kinds of fro-yo and crazy toppings like oreo crumbs and brownie chunks.

yum, looks fab ^_^

@Anwar evening :)

How were you doing?
oops. My streak is broken!!
can we set keyboard shortcut for FF addons like we can in Chrome?
If I download a git archive and then want to fetch from the repository later, how do i do that?

1:36 PM
@Anwar you mean download the zip archive?

download archive option in github

That will be not directly possible.

a found a solution though stackoverflow.com/questions/15681643/… @ByteCommander

The zip archive does only contain the actual data files, not the git repository metadata.
So you'd have to initialize a local repository and manually set the correct remote github repo and then pull... maybe?

the case is completed now since I downloaded .xz archive from here github.com/chrissimpkins/codeface

Q: Amazon onebox too large

Zacharee1It seems that the Amazon onebox doesn't truncate text. It get me to bios, case it kills ALL kernels and grub (i think) is there any way to recover kernel? I get load from live cd, and trying to ge to chroot, but I can not bind /dev and /proc it does not exist in directory...

8:12 PM
You removed all your kernels?
I'm not sure I understand why you can't bind mount /dev and /proc...

yep I think I removed them all. I do neiver understand why. there are few partitions, and there was boot on sda1
i do sudo mount /dev/sda1; sudo mount --bind /dev mnt/dev

Where are you mounting /dev/sda1?

terminal from live cd. do not sure clearly understand the question

When you mount a partition, you mount it in a specific location in the filesystem.
/mnt, for example.

ohh.. yep, to the /mnt
sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt

8:19 PM
And then you did:
sudo mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev
Is that correct?

yes

And that command works, or does it display an error?

it says mount point /mnt/dev does not exist
cd /mnt ; ls sais it is only EFI there

I didn't even know you could remove all the kernels...
Windows would never let you do that...

@Pruntoff Oh my. You will need to do this then:
sudo mkdir /mnt/dev /mnt/proc
That will create the two missing directories.
The mount command requires that the directory you are mounting to already exists.
@TheXed See? Linux has more features.

8:25 PM

just directory? huh, thats cool! thanks!
