@RPiAwesomeness how am I suppose to know if you chase girls or not? You could be the next George Cloony for all I know.

Well his name isn't George...

@Seth Or is it? Perhaps my parents never told me my true name at birth...

It's a conspiracy!

Q: Run commands "without" terminal

Lucas FMonths ago I saw a guy running commands from a small, text-box-like window, showing nothing else other than the text-box for you to write the command. Such text-box would popup by pressing some keyboard shortcut. Specifically, from what I remember, he was using Lubuntu, and mostly opening apps (l...

Oh, the joys of XML parsing.

@RPiAwesomeness step 1: Find a flash drive?

@RPiAwesomeness well, didn't want to try since I didn't have something to spin up to test :/ looks like he has a bug with it anyway...

1:51 AM
what kernel are people running on 15.04?

@Seth 3.19
I am not quite happy with the graphics module though. I upgraded to 14.10 first, then to 15.04. 14.10 had 3.16. The screen would stay black, but i managed to get it working just by switching between ttys. Now, in 15.04, my lightdm starts up all white and only pressing rightclick makes it look as it supposed to

yeah, I'm getting strange scaling issues on the launcher icons on 15.04...

Hopefully all the bugs will get polished by the LTS release

2:24 AM
blah
I realized I hadn't gotten upgraded to 3.19 so I upgraded because VMWare needed it..

hey guess what some people got working

neat!

looks like they are adding it to a update too: bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1371274
so a a "just pull the plugins" package could be in the near future
now I need to add a new section to my netflix answer

2:51 AM
@Mateo \o/
@TheX Dunno :( Never used rsync myself either. But I would assume that getting a flash drive would be the first step - yes.

@RPiAwesomeness what is the maximum operating temp for a pI?

@TheX Don't know off the top of my head - don't think that's something I've ever encountered the need to know.
I would assume it would be near the max temp for the SoC as specd by Broadcom.
Ah. 85 C
As per here

3:09 AM
@RPiAwesomeness cool

Thanks
so you haven't used rsync either?

@Oli: Are they going to add any more abilities which you can get when you get to much higher rep like you?

@Oli don't make fun of n00bs Oli! >:)

10:45 AM
@Rinzwind It'd take me a solid year to give all my rep away as 500-rep bounties, assuming I don't earn too much at the same time. Sounds exhausting but it might be fun.

:D both

user136984
I wish that you could get rep from getting badges, or at least gold ones anyway...

@ByteCommander Starting tomorrow, I have very little time. This is hard.

@ParanoidPanda 1 rep for every line in chat posted would be interesting

I have a new job :P

user136984
10:48 AM
@Rinzwind: Perhaps 1 rep for every stared thing in chat, or if you get 5 stars or something you get 5 rep, or something of the sort.

user136984
But not for each line.

user136984
Because then imagine how much rep spammers would get! :D :P

@ParanoidPanda that would be abused >:-DDDD

@Rinzwind More so your one!

user136984

10:50 AM
@ParanoidPanda never! :=D

user136984
But I do wish that the rep you are shown to have in chat (the sum of all the sites where you have over 200 rep), would also give you some special abilities in chat, and not just when you reach 10k for it to allow you to review flags.

user136984
@Rinzwind: :D

user136984
@Seth: I'm feeling as if the site suddenly loves me! Yesterday as you know I got reset to 2.6k rep, but then in the evening I got to 2.7k, and now I'm at 2.8k, so I hope the upvotes just keep coming and boot me up to 3k again! ;D But I hope that this is not due to serial voting otherwise that would be rather disappointing... :P

@A.B. I sure hope not. But you did post a "sorry" in the answer so I did assume you could be tempted.

@A.B. No. You want to delete all those useless comments instead.

11:34 AM
Hmm... Did not come back to me yet.

done

If you want to be super nice, you could make your answer into a community wiki but this is such a basic, simple question that you can't really be accused of copying. It's as though someone had asked "How do I open doors" and a comment said "use the handle".
Personally, I'd just leave it as is. Perhaps mentioning steeldriver but, since he has already removed his comment, I don't even think that's needed.

user136984
@terdon: What exactly is a community wiki? I don't think that I have ever used that option...

@ParanoidPanda You write an answer, but get no rep.
Instead, everybody may edit it.

^^

user136984
11:42 AM
Can't everybody edit it anyway?

user136984
And why wouldn't you want to get any rep from it?

@ParanoidPanda Basically it i) lowers the reputation needed to edit and ii) gives no rep to the poster (but does count towards badges)

And you are not listed as "post author" and all others as "editor", but everyone who contributed to the answer is listed with a percentage number.

Grace Note on August 19, 2011

When you mark a post community wiki on a Stack Exchange site, that means …

this post can be edited by anyone with 100 reputation

this post does not generate any reputation for anyone when upvoted or downvoted

The main advantage of community wiki — more editing — was nerfed when we introduced suggested edits. With suggested edits, anyone, even an anonymous user, can edit anything — so long as another experienced user reviews and approves their edit.

This leaves many wondering — what’s the point of Community Wiki? …

It is primarily used as i) a way to build a communal answer. You're signalling to everyone that this should be edited and should be a community effort and ii) as a way to avoid getting rep. For example, when posting someone else's solution as an answer.

Hentai (変態 or へんたい) listen English /ˈhɛntaɪ/ is a word of Japanese origin which is short for (変態性欲?, hentai seiyoku); a perverse sexual desire. In Japanese, the term describes any type of perverse or bizarre sexual desire or act; it does not represent a genre of work. Internationally, hentai is a catch-all term to describe a genre of anime and manga pornography. English adopts and uses hentai as a genre of pornography by the commercial sale and marketing of explicit works under this label. The word's narrow Japanese-language usage and broad international usage are often incompatible. Weather...

@Fabby ok, thx :)
