or rather a dialogue..
@Jeremy Very enlightening. guess they're socks then.
@qwertie - looking at your page with island survival, you need to modify your vegitation generation algorithm a bit. it might be random enough if it were more sparse, but with the density you have, there's not enough entropy to make it not look like a grid of trees of a specified density.
@qwertie then it's the brush that's doing it. say you have a scatter brush that puts "drops" at offsets. it still looks like a grid when you're standing in it.
I'm curious now. If I have a consumer router with four ethernet ports that support 1 Gbps, and I plug in a device that only supports 100 Mbps, are all four ports limited to that speed?
@Seth the decision was made to keep an eye on Utkarsh and his potential incarnations for now. When the time is right, the force will act accordingly to his offenses against the Empire.
@RolandiXor can you change the close reason of this? the dupe don't actually answer the question and is more like opinion based since everyone has their own HDD/SDD scheme
This morning I'm only able to login as guest, not as the the main user.
I don't have a clue what possibly might have changed or is causing this.
Can anyone help here?
I have a Lenovo S210 with a Realtek card reader installed (rts5139), but it does not work. I have tried restarting Elementary while I have an SD card inside, but I am unable to view the SD card contents.
When I run dmesg in terminal, I get the following pertaining to the rts5139:

So, now that it's 2014, it's time for a code question involving the number 2014.
Your task is to make a program that prints the number 2014 without using any of the characters 0123456789 in your code.
The shortest code (counting in bytes) to do so in any language in which numbers are valid toke...
This is actually pretty hard. Since most programming languages don't have built-in sort functions, we need to get a little bit creative. To be honest, looping through all of the values in the array simply to sort it out doesn't seem practical. It wastes too many resources and puts strain on the u...
Wrong; this adds basically nothing to the site since it's so similar to all the other questions in the flood of code trolling. It's not even high quality enough to be a code trolling question... — Doorknob of Snow2 days ago

xxd needed because of binary data (so copying and pasting it would be easier). May return E_NOTICE, but it doesn't really matter, does it?

@FEichinger Ah, okay. It was the styling that sorted it though. The point is nothing is actually being sorted... which is what code-trolling is, right?

Out of all of the things I've done for CodeGolf.SE, this probably took the most time, at least a few hours.
$_[0]=eval<>;

@Jeremy Yep, and that's why it's fine. It does sort. But it doesn't really use CSS for the sorting. The only relevant CSS operation is setting position to absolute.
Everything else is DOM manipulation through JavaScript. (And CSS is also just DOM manipulation, so no, changing the style values is not CSS.)
I've asked the mods to do something about Windows 8 aka whatever else. I really can't understand why this person is allowed access to any aspect of Ask Ubuntu.

My understanding is that we do not currently consider Chrubuntu to be an unofficial derivative (or even a separate derivative at all), and that the current consensus is not to close questions as off-topic for being about a problem on a Chrubuntu system. At least provided that the problem isn't ab...

Whenever I try to connect to Ubuntu by Xephyr, I always ended with 1600x1200 resolution. Even though, I specified the -screen 1024x768 in command.
Where is the issue ? On server side or client side ?
Unfortunately I don't have another server to test.
If I connect to same server by using Xnest w...
I forked hsetroot into mhsetroot then added a lot of more features to it like being able to set the image size to what ever you want no matter how big or small the original image is then show it center screen, even flip the background and the image in opposite directions if you like, and tile the...
I've just replaced the harddrive on my mac and was hoping to swap directly to UBUNTU as my OS. Can this be done? If so, can it be done from a usb written by a windows computer?
