Yay milestone! I just officially made it to 30k rep :) ... I never thought I'd get past 5k, ha! Glad I can continue to be active here and to continue to support this community (and ID everybody's random species! ;p) !

^(not a brag I swear. just sharing my 5 seconds of personal celebrating with the only community that would care -- imagine telling someone in your workplace, "I finally reached X rep on bio stack exchange!" and getting anything but a weird look and at best an eye roll haha! )

@anongoodnurse just saw your duck chat post. FYI, I duped the duck post because the duck in the newer post is some sort of hybrid mallard. I didn't think getting to the specific hybrid was all that necessary given the asker's general language.

@anongoodnurse I duped to my older post not because it's the same continent or hybrid, but because my answer there described hybrid mallards in fairly robust detail with a number of reputable links as well as hints at the presence of curled tail feathers being a sure sign of domestic mallard hybrids -- which were present in the OP's pictured German ducks.

@theforestecologist Congrats! You earned it with your great answers! When I reached 10K on my first site, I excitedly told my son, who replied, "And that gets you....what?" Yeah, smart guy (my son).

@theforestecologist I did get that. I was just excited to find what I found, lol! On my little farm, we had ducks. I was into genetic diversity, so I raised all kinds of rare and unusual breeds (of chicken, too.) Omg, the crosses I got! I was excited to see a cross that reminded me of my (wonderful) farming days. :)
