@LouisWaweru What would be your approach? Additionally: Targeting the spike protein makes sense, since mutations changing it so much that the vaccines are useless will render the virus useless since it cannot enter the cell anymore. It needs the spike protein to enter cells and replicate. What we are seeing right now are some mutations in the spike protein (most of them occured before we had an effect by the vaccines kicking in) which take away a few epitopes but not all of them.
Data from Israel shows that the protecting effect of the virus is still there and we are definitely protect from severe cases and deaths. Which is good news.
What I find troubling about the inflowing scientific data is the ignorance of politics about it.

So I remembered the joke about how men can't find something clearly on the shelf but can spot the tiny piece of some food they don't like in a dish, or something like that, and got an idea: maybe we hate certain foods partially because they seem possibly dangerous, and men are good at finding pieces of food they hate is because the were in more danger as hunters.
