just took a look at health se - question at top of the list was about the negative health effects of gm food, the second was about sunscreen causing cancer...
shall we start a pool on when SE pulls the plug?

7:37 AM
Probably this will come over to bio then...

@GriffinEvo Unless those receive bad answers, that is not a huge problem

seems a lot of the q's will be skeptics suited, I guess most questions would either fit here or skeptics (both with a health tag), not sure what else that would leave (maybe some chemistry questions)

8:24 AM
We are fighting poor questions and answers quite effectively.

I think we should set up a good protocol repository. Posted as community wiki.
It would surely be better than protocolsonline
It will increase the traffic to this site exponentially

Not a bad idea.

@WYSIWYG What do you mean by protocol?

For example how to do an ethanol precipitation

Q: Basic step by step methods for PCR & Gel electrophoresis class

GriffinEvoI'm teaching a class how to do PCR & gel electrophoresis soon and would like it if you could check through my basic step by step instructions - it's a while since I've done one. Is there anything there that is wrong, missing, or should be excluded in the following? A) Collect all ingredie...

one for the pile!

@Chris that is an example of a protocol?

4:14 PM
It's not from me.

@Chris ok

May I ask what might be the problem with the answer I have given here? (I assume their might be one, as he questioner didn't accept it)

When people don't accept an answer, they either usually don't bother about it or they haven't seen it yet. So I wouldn't worry about it too much.

thank you:)

I collected quite a few of these answers :-)

How can one get access to more scientific works? Are there any way I am not aware of? Unfortunately, I have pretty limited access, which mostly consists of abstracts, which is not so ideal.

7:11 PM
You could ask here for specific papers. Sometimes it helps to google the title together with pdf to find a source for a paper.

@FloriOn Don't worry about "acceptance" - lots of great answers go unaccepted. Reasons could be that the OP is unaware of "accepting", forgot about it, or is waiting for more answers to accumulate.

@fileunderwater Thank you
