As a somewhat autistic and thus an outside observer who is male and thus exposed to a lot more male reasoning than otherwise, and also frequently ignored so exposed to even more, I actually have to agree wholeheartedly about the whole dominance thing in common greetings. At least the bone cruncher handshake and the bear hug greeting are clearly dominance things among those I've known, as they'd talk about this crap in the breakroom at work.
