she's a wildling and a girl and he's banging her. 1) they wouldn't let her in, and 2) she would keep them from taking him seriously, and 3) she would probably turn on him anyway.

IMO she gets way too much attention relative to how long she's actually in the story.

I don't remember Gilly being much of a big deal in the books until after Mance Rayder shows up.

for one thing, IIRC, the first time they see her at Crasters it's Jon not Sam that she deals with.

then sam sees the walkers and meets back up with the rest of the crows, and they go to crasters where shes just had the baby

there was a bit of hint of that. jon was the one who got in trouble at first. for questioning anything at all

Sam doesn't show up with Gilly until much later, after the wildling army is there.

as the watch is leaving Crasters, Sam promises to come back and get her.

the whole North storyline looks to be pretty accelerated in the books.

in the books... the watch goes north to crasters. and they leave with craster still alive, and Sam promising to come back for gilly.

so the watch goes past crasters, and then sends snow with half-hand. snow gets separated.

the bit where Snow sees Craster give up one of his kids and runs back to tell Mormont.. that never happens in the novel.

and then all of a sudden half-hand shows back up, captured

then it's got sam digging shit-holes with the other two guys when they find the dragonglass

and white walkers show up. they all run, but sam gets left behind

and then the rest of the watch shows up and they're tired/injured. they go to crasters

now I remember what they cut out.

I'm pretty sure Sam and Gilly are rescued by Coldhands.

then theres some sort of mutiny and everyone starts killing each other

but I don't think we see Coldhands in the show until Season 6.

he isn't attacked by an Other, just a wight. and the dragonglass doesn't help.

he does kill an Other with it, but during the attack on the Fist, before Craster's.

in the show at the fist spot, they were attacked by walkers or whatever.. but they all just ran

and then he later encounters one of the dead Watchmen and tries to kill that with the dagger but it doesn't work, and Coldhands saves him.

well that was the Attack at the Fist... the Nights Watch lost badly.

I don't think they spent much time on it, but a lot of them died there.

in the books Sam takes a lot longer to get back to Castle Black... there's a side-bit with Bran and Coldhands.

in the show Bran and Coldhands don't meet until late Season 6

so they cut Coldhands whole story out of the show

based on everyone freaking out at air-time, we expected the red wedding to have killed more principles

plus, if you knew something bad happened that ruins it.

he has done so many terrible work , for example gost rider 2

He's really good in films like Face/Off, The Rock, Con Air, and he's perfect in Kick Ass.

He's at his best when he's either taking the film he's in seriously, or the film allows for his more bombastic style of acting to come out in full.

OK, but think about films like The Wicker Man, or Vampire's Kiss. He is legitimately a man in the wrong film there, but he's still entertaining, and super interesting to see.

And then you have genuinely great films, like his work with the Coen Brothers, or Spike Jonze, or John Woo. The guy has some serious range.

I have not seen all of his films as my experience was way bad with him, so i don't know about the film you mentioned
