@MartinSleziak? I have a question

6:04 PM
@user486983 I don't really know how I should respond to that.

:D ok. How do you search on the wayback machine? seems like the search users doesn't work

What do you mean exactly.
Usually what I search for in Wayback Machine is a specific url.
For instance, let's say I have this link: karagila.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/…
And one day it stops working.
So I want to check whether some snapshot is there in the Wayback Machine.
I simply enter the url on this page: web.archive.org
Which takes me here - an there I can check various snapshots of that page. (Or I find out that the page was never saved in the Wayback Machine.)

I get it. I searched for a link also but didn't show anything, so not everything is saved as snapshots?

That's correct, not everything is saved.
If it's not a secret, what was the url that you were searching for?

mine

You mean your user profile on Mathematics?

yes

Sometimes when I get that no snapshot was found the Wayback Machine offers me to save the page.
In this case, I just got the message: "Wayback Machine doesn't have that page archived. Want to search for all archived pages under..."
If you want the current version of that page to be archived, you can do it also by entering the url with "save" in the browser - like this: http://web.archive.org/save/https://math.stackexchange.com/users/486983/user486983.
That saves how the page looks now - of course, if you wanted to find some older version, this does not help you with that.

I see, thank you Martin
