Hello @MartinSleziak! Happy new year!
I was applying to university and contacted a professor there, He said the following about the reference letters - "The letters should tell more than that you are a nice person and particular focus on your mathematical merits." , Can you suggest what can be added then in the reference letter?
Like points or qualites for example sake?

@BAYMAX I suppose this is more of a question for somebody who knows you.
And mainly for the person who will write the reference.
Things I can imagine there:
1. Mathematical competitions - if you were in some of them as a participant or as an organizer.
2. Your university record. (Typically the person writing the recommendation might be somebody who taught you some subject.)
3. Various seminars if your school - if you were a participant or an organizer.
4. If you took part in some programs for talented studends.
etc.
5. (Maybe also) various jobs you had - if they are relevant for your application. For example, if you worked as a programmer, this might be a positive.

Thanks! what about 5th point? do students do jobs before completing degree?
perhaps depends on country

I have seen many students here that have part-time (or even full-time) jobs while studying at university.
Most of the cases I know of were either teaching jobs or programmers.
