Brought to mind a cellular automaton glitch I was showing my students yesterday:
Tried adding some cross-colour-channel influence, inadvertently opened a portal to an alternate maze universe.
Um... #screenshotsaturday? https://t.co/QUJJvB2y4R
Though, I have been wanting to get in on the screensaver jam, it's just never been a good time for my schedule. ;)
I've wanted to make one that's a 2D RPG that plays itself, with a procedurally generated overworld the hero wanders around, battling monsters & leveling up the longer you let it run. XD
Kind of like Grow RPG but fully autonomous / endless
@DMGregory grow games are the best. Each year when I would visit my cousin (which lives in a different country) we would revisit the grow website and see if sth new came out
I like how it flips the challenge from being a hero fulfilling your destined quest against a world out of your control, to being destiny itself, constructing a world in which the hero out of your control can fulfill their quest.
