I did not need the car, so I could leave it parked in the street all the time. Except I had to change it side twice a week so that they could clean the street, and then in the winter there is no spot when there was snow...
That's the best, specially if you don't use it often. I heard in-out during the winter still kills it with rust because the snow has not enough time to dry out inside (with the salt)
We're using an open source rendering engine, it comes with a "stats handler" that displays data and charts about the scene. The source code of that part looks like shit. I've been re implementing something similar over that engine, as this handler does not offer features that we need. The code of that part is slowly starting to look like shit.
As if code for that kind of stuff was doomed to become ugly.
@Almo I forgot to mention that the turnbased game is not just exchanging turns and choosing whatever action you want to do like in these standard JRPGs but also takes place on a grid. So that will increase the difficulty by a little :p
I've done that on occasion. Usually when I have a bunch of game state I want to pack and manipulate in one place, rather than distributing it between a lot of objects. Then I let the game objects just reflect / communicate that underlying state.
@Almo The Z axis anarchy chafes at your implied XY superiority. The only way up is Z+! Look beyond the XY horizon! Rise up into the 3rd dimension! Break the 4th wall!!
Also, until further notice, I hereby revoke all diplomatic privileges previously granted to particle emitters.
The XY hegemony is a paper tiger, intended to circumvent the destiny of humankind in order to bring about the false Singularity thereby corrupting our collective psyche. Signs abound. the refutation of the ABC conjecture. Economic unrest. Fluoride. You can't make this stuff up.
Meanwhile big pharma profits from the unrelenting schematics of temporal interest rates. This to is a red fish. How many chambers do the Wu-Tang really possess? What is the nature of dark matter? How's been messing with my coffee? With careful consideration, all of these question lead us to the same conclusion.
Yes! Now I can finish my coffee & work on using it for something productive instead of .. umm, doing whatever this might have been. And they still need to do something about that flag of theirs - drops my frame rate. I know it's technically a collection of threads, but come on.
@Almo Hmm the only tool like that that we use is the VS's editor that will happily put spaces where we want it to, but I'm not aware of any other formatter tool. And I'm not sure I'd want to use it, at will most likely mess up our other nicely aligned things.
yeah if you use git blame a lot you just wind up with 60% of the lines in the codebase git blamed to the one revision where someone converted all tabs so spaces
