Q: How did the Witches of the Boiling Isle banish giraffes to the human world?

Aaargh ZombiesIn the Disney Channel original animation Owl House, it was stated that the witches of the boiling isle banished giraffes to the human world. This is initially seen as being a throwaway line of dubious authenticity by a character who is prone to exaggeration, but is later shown to be canonically t...

@steelersquirrel I don't think so, no. I suppose you mean the Paul Walker film?

12:45 PM
Yes!
The only annoying thing about that movie is that it's supposed to be in Mt. Angel, OR and there is no way that it was filmed there
Also, he apparently walks from Mt. Angel to Dundee all of the time, which is weird since those towns are 30 miles apart

Isn't that a normal distance for US neighbouring towns to be apart from? ;-)

It's too bad because Mt. Angel is a beautiful town with a beautiful Catholic Church and Abbey
@NapoleonWilson Yes. That's totally normal. It's not normal to walk that far every day and act like it's only a few miles ;)

@steelersquirrel Oh, wow, indeed!

I am in Mt. Angel about 3 times per week
It would have been awesome if they actually would have filmed there

@steelersquirrel Being an angel to your caretakers?

12:50 PM
Duh! :P
I walk up to the Abbey about once a week and hang out with the nuns on the campus to have lunch

<gasp>

Right?
My co-workers and I go up there and have lunch with the nuns and sometimes the priests. They're all super cool

Q: Name for "saved one life but then lost many" trope

aaaaa says reinstate MonicaI am watching Homeland season 4. It seems the authors employ a trope where protagonist makes a decision to save one US citizen life, but that decision then leads to loss of dozens of US citizens and potentially local assets: In the season protagonists have several opportunities to kill bunch of b...

Q: Why wasn't this filmed in the actual town of Mt. Angel, Oregon?

steelersquirrelIn the 2008 film, The Lazarus Project, we are told that Paul Walker's character is a groundskeeper in Mt. Angel, Oregon. There are several shots of the town and of the building that Paul Walker's character works at. I work in Mt. Angel, Oregon on occasion and noticed that the areas that they are...

Q: No time-dilation during attack on Cylon colony near black hole in "Daybreak" (s4e19)

buræqueteIn the long episode, Galactica launches a suicide mission to rescue Hera from "the Colony", a Cylon base that is in a stable orbit within a black hole's accretion disk, while the rest of the fleet waits at a different point in space for their return. The issue here is, obviously, that a trip that...
