Q: Why does Cady say "I ain't your porch-baby"

Eddie KalIn Martin Scorsese's movie Cape Fear (1991) Cady has a brief exchange with a PI hired by Sam Bowden Cady: Are you my friend? PI: No, I'm not your friend. Cady: Oh. 'Cause I thought maybe you were my friend, because I like to plan my comings and goings with friends. But if you're not my friend, a...

Hey there! Would asking a question about how one could legally watch full Cartoon Network shows (from Europe, if that's relevant) online be appropriate for this site? It seems Cartoon Network doesn't offer any subscription options (to the best of my knowledge) and I'd like to be able to watch all seasons of Steven Universe, for instance, but can't seem to find a site where that would be possible... :(

Probably not, I'm afraid. It comes down to locating content and/or support for thrid-party sites/services, neither of which is really appropriate as a question.

Unfortunate, but I get it. Thanks for the quick response :)

@Bonnibel could try seeing if you can get the DVDs. if you can't find them locally (as best i can find is Region 1) you might be able to import them from the US but will need a region free player

How is this region free thing working, by the way? I recently wanted to buy a US DVD but hesitated because of that region code stuff.

@NapoleonWilson for DVDs the player generally has a menu for changing the DVD region, some have a Region 0 which is no region so you don't have to keep switching. Bluray is the same but there's no Region 0 with them

You mean every player or do you need a special player for that?
Does the same problem exist for DVD drives in computers?

@NapoleonWilson you have to get specialised ones but they are advertised as being multi-region or region free
@NapoleonWilson yeh but i have never had a region free DVD Drive. on my old PC and Laptop (which were both Window 7) in order to run a DVD from the US (Region 1) or Australia (Region 4) i had to change a setting in Windows and it warns me i can only do it 5 times. i haven't checked my current PC's Bluray Drive which is also Windows 10 to see if it's still a thing now

@raf I use IMDb but I don't know it stores the date you rated something on, which would mean that you saw it.
you can try posting a review, which has a date. But also expect the site to purge it if it's trash
better keep an excel sheet :)

Q: In The Americans, why does William Crandall perform an unexpected act? (spoilers)

user24353SPOILERS In The Americans, why does William Crandall break the glass vial holding the Lassa virus (which is lethal and gruesome) and stab his hand with it, fatally infecting himself? He was terrified of the virus, and reluctant to "play a part" in possibly spreading it. Also, while he was very un...

Q: What does the phrase "you missed a spot" really mean?

AhmadI can't remember all the occurrences where I watch a character in a movie or a show scrubbing, cleaning, sweeping, painting, etc, and another character happens to be watching, then points out: You missed a spot! Right now I can remember it being said in The Truman Show and Fargo (show). I am su...
