I guess that thing's full of stuff like that. Isn't that actually playing much with the differences between genders and fantastically exaggerating them?
I wouldn't say they're too much exaggerated (although some might disagree).
Bear in mind that the magic system, which is a major feature of the whole thing, is divided into male and female halves. So in a way, "vive la difference" is an essential part of Jordan's worldbuilding.
I only heard it criticized as being sexist once, while it simply tries to draw upon some perceived cultural differences between genders and trying to make them more inherent substantial. But I might remember that wrongly.
It's different horror films in one movie.
One of them is a group of bikers go riding down to the woods and sleep there with their motorcycles. They all cut them self to bring one of the biker's friend's dead girlfriend to life. They all put their blood in a cup. While she hangs on the cross whi...
This community seems to be overwhelmingly about identification and trivia related to specific TV shows and movies. But there are SOME questions about movie/TV production and general questions. These seem like two completely different genres and I was surprised to find them intermixed here. As t...
I saw a film or show on netflix a few days back (this is 5/2/16) where the description said that a woman was dating a man in a coma. I was hoping to find it again, perhaps it was taken off netflix streaming or the search function there isn't good?
In Goosebumps (2015) movie, we can see that
But why did he mention in his book that Hannah will get trapped too? Can't he just mention the other monsters without Hannah and complete the book?
We just watched "Captain America: Civil War" in the theatre. It was 3D and it was one of the technically worst shows I have experienced. The movie was stuttering all the time during action scenes. I think it was probably the same in scenes with less action, but not noticeable because there was mu...
It started off with a bunch of different teams competing each other, then eliminating starts until there was only one winner left. Each episode had a different theme .
I remember parts of a few episodes.
a race to the set up camp.

@NapoleonWilson I've seen two post-credits scenes. Rumour has it that a third might be released when the film comes out in the USA, but I'm... skeptical about that.
Drgh, they'll probably show it after the credits and post-credit scene are over for 10 minutes. The projector will have to shut down in between, it's probably programmed that way right into the projectors.
@AnkitSharma If we are going to discuss it, it might be worth setting up a room for it. There is a lot to spoil, and I'd hate to ruin the film for someone.
I have just watched the TV series And Then There Were None from BBC. Along with the Russian adaptation, Desyat Negrityat (1987), I think it is the most satisfying adaptation of A. Christie's classic novel. I have the question regarding the gripping of ending of the show when Vera after shooting L...
@AnkitSharma Yeah, but Agents of Nothing is used for a lot of comic book related things, and I still err on the side of caution when it comes to spoilers because I know not everyone will have seen thee thing in question yet.
@AnkitSharma Not really. None of the post-credits scenes have ever been vital (I'm not sure if Captain America: Civil War changes that or not), they're just little bonuses for fans. There is nothing wrong with that.
@AnkitSharma Then don't wait. That's the beauty of them - they are 100% optional.
But noone has ever dared to climb the Mount Everest fully naked either. Does that make the people who at least contemplated it less likely to appreciate the act itself?
I've never ever seen something like a dedicated comic book shop even exist, but I'd wager in the big comic countries like the US people might have delved a bit more into the source material of their favourite films.
Superhero comics were never a big thing here. I know zero people who are into that stuff, and I'm moving among computer scientists and psychologists. That always seemed like a total US thing. That whole nerd-culture as known from (admittedly awfully carricaturized) things like The Big bang Theory was always rather alien to me.
The same with collecting toys and shenanigans like that.
Beware this post contains spoilers!
Now, the Night's Watch holds you loyal & responsible for your entire life. If you desert, you are killed for disobeying your oath to protect the realm with the Night's Watch.
Hopefully, this season gets even crazier!
@NapoleonWilson Because the information took me about 5 minutes to find. I have to admit that Kim was absolutely right (which I hate to do). But, there's really no question to ask anymore, I guess.
@steelerfan Oh. Is it from Wikipedia or a single big source among the first few google hits or did you have to drag it all together across various sources?
I hate it when Wikipedia answers all my cool questions, though.
I really want to know where Mike got his information from. Everywhere I looked, it clearly states that Benjamin Martin's character is comprised of 4-5 different figures from that period and the only traits that they took from Francis Marion were his Weapon of choice and his involvement in killing Indians.
@NapoleonWilson Yeah, that and 3-4 other websites. I was actually impressed that Kim knew all of this off the top of her head. Maybe she really is kinda smart ;)
What I wonder more is why every single person other than me seriously even considers this oath that exactly this questions gets asked 3 times across 2 sites. The stuff people come up with sometimes.
@AnkitSharma Yes, since this way it's open if he even can. Either you have not seen season 5, then it's entirely vague and you don't know what it means at all. And if you have seen it but not S06E02 yet, then it could still be a hypothetical question.
@NapoleonWilson I love watching that show with my sister. Nobody else in my life ever appreciated that show like she did with me. I am so sore this morning from laughing so hard last night ;)
@NapoleonWilson Haha! You so awesome, Napoleon. You really need to watch This is Spinal Tap and Best in Show. If you can appreciate the humor in Arrested Development, then you would definitely like Christopher Guest movies.
I remember seeing this trailer for a movie about where 2 girls break into a guy's house and basically torture him, and I believe it ends with him being dead (at least in the trailer, so probably not), though I never ended up seeing the movie, I can't remember the title at all, anyone have anythin...
In the final showdown of Furious 6 when Shaw's crew go to escape on the plane that was described by Roman as "a planet" the entire showdown is on a continuous strait stretch of runway with Dom's crew either fighting on the plane or driving alongside it trying to stop it from taking off by firing ...
I remember watching Aliens and being amazed with the variety of guns, war vehicles and ammunition shown. My expectation was that Alien 3 would have at least as much action involving guns and in general follow death match style of the Aliens. However, if I am not mistaken we don't see many guns if...
Aside from speculations of the title coming from Tarantino's mispronunciation of the French film name, what meaning does Reservoir Dogs have in context of the actual story line?
In Executive Decision (1996), we see that after both the pilots are shot dead, Dr. Grant, although he never handled a jumbo jet, assumes control and doesn't know what to do. Since he doesn't have any experience with the jumbo jets, he goes around at Dulles Intl Airport, and then overshoots the ru...
The prince was promised a seat on the small council. At the end of season 5, I thought he was on the boat with them. But in season 6, it turns out he stayed in Dorn. Why did he stay in Dorn when his fiancé was on the boat and he was given a seat on the small council?
I remember watching a movie 30 maybe 40 years ago, I think it was French, where a man who is bored with life, engages in risky behaviors, but always survives. Pays a hitman to kill him. Then he falls in love and decides life is worth living. What was the name of the movie? I think there was ...
@KutuluMike So, I asked a Doctor Who question recently over at SFF. I wanted to ask another one. What's your opinion about asking Doctor Who questions over there versus asking here?
@AnkitSharma Oh God. In that Agents of nothing room?
if you happen to stumble onto one of the areas of Doctor Who that gets talked about in the novels, you will get some really long answers that will not likely help you at all.
oh, just ask it. the usual list of "is this your question?" questions is pretty good.
His body language is kind of of a douschebag. Could be that it is in a deception purposes? It seams to me though that a deception artist should have a body language like James Bond and definitely not like Cal Lightman in the show?
There's a background music playing in a movie called "God's not dead" from 18:04 until 18:28.
It would be awesome intro for a skate video!
Thanks, appreciate!
@steelerfan Also, SFF has been getting a lot of terrible Doctor Who questions lately, so we'll really appreciate some good ones. Your Blink question got more upvotes than all the rest of the last 25 doctor-who questions there put together.
@Randal'Thor Oh, really? Wow! Well, I am working on a few right now to ask over here and then, I will try and get my Doctor Who one done and post it over there :)
@steelerfan The next two episodes (a two-part story) should be fun. One moment from the next episode is perhaps the most often-flashbacked scene in New Who (which kinda annoys me, for reasons which would be spoilers).
In the 2004 film, The Village, the villagers wear yellow as a "safe" color to protect themselves against the creatures that live in the woods beyond the borders of their village. The color yellow is to show the creatures that the villagers mean them no harm and that peace is to be maintained bet...
I was going to get really ambitious and post a question regarding M. Night Shyamalan use of color symbolism in his films, but I don't know if I'm that ambitious at the moment ;)
