Q: Vague Plot Summary of 2 Movies - Identification appreciated

blntechieI cannot seem to find information about these movies I watched on TV (possibly HBO or other movie networks) around 2008. I remember the plots very vaguely and somehow they came up in my thoughts today. And both movies most possibly were made after 2000 and could possibly be a TV only release. 1)...

Q: Why was Jane invited to go with Stephen Hawking to meet the Queen?

ThunderforgeNear the end of the film The Theory of Everything, Stephen Hawking is invited to meet the Queen and be offered a knighthood. Jane goes along too, although it's not clear to me if the invitation from the Queen was extended to her as well or if Stephen asked her to come along. This really confuse...

Q: What are the movies/tv shows that are pictured on the negative present in Movies & TV section

DeepakWhat are the movies/tv shows that are pictured on the negative present in Movies & TV section

6:28 AM
@MovieReel movie to meta and direct close or just close?

It's too bad you can't mark as duplicate between meta and the site.

@Catija yeah......:/
@Catija How is it even trivia, its more like a design question to me and we already decided to keep it in meta only
Just by 4/3 votes

Q: Should we move the canonical top-bar image identification question to the main site?

Napoleon WilsonThere is a referential question here on meta about listing all the movies and TV-shows referenced by the top-bar as part of our design. In the meantime we already got two genuine ID questions on the main site asking for identifying those movies/TV-shows seen in our top-bar, which have been closed...

@AnkitSharma It's trivia about the M&TV site...

For close reason, i opt for not to choice any close reason from the list. :|

Q: Did they switch around the pills to lie to us after the Matrix was oficially released?

SidharthaThis is under the interpretative thought that we [are] in a Matrix. If we are and they hacked the system after the movie "unintentionally" came out, is it possible Neo actually took the blue pill? Modern day time shows us red. But maybe in the 90's or before it was 'officially' released they had...

Now that was a sleep. I am all refreshed and ready to go and have been on my run already and today is starting so well and... huh, I'm already bored.
@Catija losing the word "trivia", it's a question about the site, which by definition belongs on meta

@Flyk Who's arguing that? It's still tangentially movie trivia as the icons are film-related... It's trivia in the same way that someone coming here to get our help answering some idiotic movie quiz on another site is trivia.

sure, I'm not saying it's not trivia, I'm saying if you remove the word trivia it removes all ambiguity from the argument
since questions "about the site" belong exclusively on meta

And I'm not arguing with that. I just said that it's trivia.

I wasn't arguing at all
I was merely pointing something out

7:51 AM
LOL.....girl fight :D

I guess I don't get why. Ankit was responding here to a comment I made on the question saying that it was trivia. I even linked to the Meta answer in another comment on the question.

it wasn't even a fight -.-

Q: What is the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

FlykThe Marvel Cinematic universe comprises of movies and television shows, released in multiple phases over several years. The first movie in this universe was Iron Man, followed by The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, and Captain America: The First Avenger. Obviously a large portion of The First Avenge...

@MovieReel should I just delete this? If I wanted a link only answer I would have just googled?
I'll just ask all of my questions on google from now on, I guess

9:06 AM
@Flyk Oh, sounds exactly like a reaction I'd expect from you (uh ok, diregarding your rep and existing SE experience that is).
That being said, how come on your vast journeys through the bowels of this site you never stumbled across this:

Q: How to sort Marvel Cinematic Universe hero movies into a chronological order?

SaarikoIf I wanted to watch all released Marvel heroes movies in a chronological order, how would I need to watch them? I am not referring to the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D TV series (although it would be nice to fit that in, too). Assuming S.H.I.E.L.D (Fury, Coulson, ...) is the connecting line in the st...

@NapoleonWilson I am well known for writing long answers when they're required, the MCU is a finite list of content, somebody could have written a proper answer
@NapoleonWilson 2014 content, way too new for me atm, but it demonstrates a user that can be bothered to write proper content for the site, even if it's just quoting it so they're not providing a link only answer
still only in Feb 2012, remember?

@Flyk And maybe some one will? That thing's half an hour old and yet you already give up?

One of the highest rep users on the site posted a link only answer
that's sufficient enough for me to stop caring
I'm going to get back to flagging

@Flyk I bet it is. (>_<)

@NapoleonWilson technically not a dupe, though, I was including the TV series + phase 3

9:12 AM
@Flyk Answer already contains agent of shield and agent carter

fortunately, you dupe questions, not answers
as a mod, I'd expect you to know that

@Flyk Well, technically, since the answers pretty much ignore the non-TV aspect of the question.

Just daredevil need to be added and some more movies whch didn't came yet

@Flyk Uh, for someone that eager to follow SE to the word, you should know that we indeed actually are supposed to dupe answers and not questions.

@NapoleonWilson if two questions ask different things but have the same answer, they're not dupes
if two questions ask the same thing different ways, they're dupes

9:14 AM
@Flyk Unfortunately they are, if they're sufficiently similar.

@NapoleonWilson if they're asking different things it's assumed they're not sufficiently similar

I never was a big fan of this policy, but in that specific case the questions are so inherently similar that the difference is utterly negligible.

in this case, I'd have rather it have been closed as a dupe of the first question than given a link only answer

@Flyk Well, those two questions don't ask different things then.

but whatever, I'm not arguing, this is the second time I have chatted in here today that has been met with what looks like arguing and fighting, I wouldn't want to be accused of arguing in chat for saying hello and pointing out something obvious a second time

9:16 AM
@Flyk Bah, you're total lack of patience for a question asked a friggin 30 minutes ago is really baffling, even now and even to me.

@NapoleonWilson take a look at the content I've posted that has survived and you'll see that my trigger happy deleting results in me only allowing good content to have my name attached to it

@Flyk Then don't come here with an indignant and anger-inducing tone (disclaimer: I can only speak for the latest incident since I haven't yet caught up on chat).

I don't have a single downvoted post on any non-meta site on the network (last I checked)
@NapoleonWilson fun fact: there's no such thing as "tone" in text
only the reader's interpretation of tone
with that in mind, I'm a problem because you think I'm a problem and can't read anything I say in any other tone

@Flyk Sure.

Do you think that if I was constantly angry and looking for a fight (as you guys seem to think) that I would bother turning up here on a daily basis?

9:21 AM
@Flyk Not neccessarily. I've come to accomodate a little to your tone and at first tried to take that indignance as sarcastically and jokingly as it was probably (hopefully?) meant. But yet again the dicussion seems to have got out of hand. Well, we just don't fit I guess. And we were chatting so constructively over the last days. <head_shaking_emoticon>

I mean, this morning I only pointed out that removing the word "trivia" from the discussion made it clear that the question belonged on meta
and got accused of fighting
I don't even think the discussion has got out of hand -.-

@Flyk No, misunderstanding over misunderstandings have lead to all this. Most of the time you probably just tend to have quite a sarcastic humour that begs for taking it too serious and be hurt by it.

Then trying being misunderstood every time you try and contribute, have people jump at you as though you're being agressive and trying to cause trouble, and see whether or not you feel isolated and upset at the end of it

@Flyk Not as badly as we've seen it in the past. But the fact that we're basically arguing about arguing itself seems to indicate that it's not particularly "in hand" anymore either.

and then imagine how I feel.

9:28 AM
@Flyk Well, it's not entirely not your fault either. Impatience paired with an attitude of "you're all doing it wrong!" and lack for treading lightly might have lead to a not so favourable first image of you, which might not have painted you as constructive as you intended. That is hard to shake off, I guess. But well, I thought we'd reached a state where we could discuss things constructively and it seemed to have worked, until we had to talk about arguing again.

I don't know why me being unhappy with content I've posted here and deleting it is such a big issue for you
It's not like I'm systematically deleting all of my content, it's just new stuff
Thus, I'm not abusing any privileges
It's my perogative to remove content I've posted that's going to result in adding low quality content to the site
Since the site is about high quality content

Uh, I finally checked that previosu discussion and really, there wasn't any fighting at all. I wonder how you got the impression that you were met with arguing and fighting. It was a constructive discussion.

yeah, "girl fight!" is really constructive

@Flyk That is not a big issue. It was the way you expressed your feeelings that...Uh forget it!

Cool, forgotten

9:34 AM
@Flyk Well, that was a little joking (and ok, maybe sexist) comment by someone else. I don't think he interpreted your (the plural your) behaviour as fighting really.

Yet when I make jokes, bad things happen
I will just evaluate everybody else's tone as you guys evaluate mine.

@Flyk Well, obviously when someone else makes jokes bad things happen, too.
@Flyk Uh, that "tone" comment of mine wasn't even too serious. Ugh, yet again I have taken the sarcastic atmosphere hanging here as a reason for too lax and harsh a comment that might not have been meant as harsh as it was said. And it all developed into an inconvenient discussion, sorry. Guh, anyway.
Can't we just all be friends again? <hugging_emoticon>

Well, I don't make friends with interent people, but if I didn't like you I wouldn't be here

@Flyk Duh, it was just a little comment, I wasn't talking about actual "friends" in whatever stirct sense of the word. Ugh, nevermind.

the point is, regardless of what you think, how it appears, or whatever
I'm not here to burn down the site, every action I take has a good intention and if I say something that looks offensive it's probably not supposed to be
and I'm more than happy to sit out a 30 minute ban if I actually do offend somebody.

9:42 AM
@Flyk I know, I know.
Really, you've taking Ankit's "girl fight" comment way too seriously. Nobody was really arguing and fighting.
@Flyk On another note, you won't guess what title and tag edit someone just proposed on this question you revived just now. ;-)

if you notice, user1887 did the same thing a few years ago
cough

Er, I actually spent a bit of time editing the answer
[TLDR, chat wise]
Before realizing that 1. you deleted it and 2. it's been asked before.

What, she deleted it? Ugh! (>_<)

...

Maybe you can still see my edit:
http://movies.stackexchange.com/questions/33604/what-is-the-timeline-of-the-marvel-cinematic-universe/33605#33605
BTW, I'm having some online issues (websites don't load, chat keeps saying timeout), so I probably can't stay long :(

9:52 AM
@NapoleonWilson sometimes I feel like we're going around in circles

(>_<)ッ☆( ゜o゜)

@Walt sorry, it was a dupe and I hadn't realized, so now it's no longer a dupe

No matter. I could add the dates to the existing answer, unless it's too intrusive

you should probably put your answer on the existing one since you cover the TV series and that question doesn't
but don't listen to me on that matter, I'm always wrong

@Flyk The existing answers already have the TV shows, seems uneccessary.

9:55 AM
see, always wrong

@NapoleonWilson Not Daredevil, though. Or anything else post Jul 7 '14
Though it was right at the time, so it would be silly to retcon

Well, nobody asked a more current question including the TV stuff anyway, so.

Er, so how to delete an answer to a deleted question? ;)
(No, I'm not serious!)
@NapoleonWilson I think someone did, an hour ago :P

and the subsequent discussion said that including the TV shows doesn't make it "not a dupe"

@Flyk Well, we could have closed the older one as a duplicate, sicne I think all the existing answers had the TV-shows anyway. But nevermind, what's gone is gone. I'll do the hell and touch this thing again. Don't want to "abuse" my powers for undeleting valid content against the author's intentions.

10:00 AM
True. And if Ankit wants to update it, he always can

@NapoleonWilson ewww, duping old content to new stuff?

Ugh, timeout - retry again. Something's definitely wrong. :(

@Walt Your ISP is bad at the internet

Something is

Well, lunch time anyway.

10:04 AM
bon appetit

10:52 AM
gutted, out of votes

BTW Flyk, I hope it doesn't come off as preachy, but yes, a bit of patience goes a long way in SE. It's why I rarely vote to delete answers in the first few minutes (unless they're aggressively awful), because they still might be improved. And I almost always edit my own answers, if only to fix typos, and sometimes overhaul the whole thing (like in this case).

I don't care if the information appears on Google because the point of Stack Exchange is that finding the information should be easy, without you leaving the site

Hey, how'd you go blue there

[ link text ] ( http:// url to link )

oh, it's all a link, sorry

10:58 AM
they're links to answers I've posted elsewhere on the network, demonstrating nice long answers where I could have just posted a single link.
I'm not all that bothered about reputation, which is why I don't mind editing other people's answers to make them perfect
but link only answers do my head in
since they actively work against the purpose of SE

Well, I did want to, but the picture was too big to embed (I did try) and the chronology was too long to paste. I later changed my mind and posted the chronology anyway with some changes.

and once it was obvious my question was going to turn into a link only answer, I concluded it was a waste of space and deleted it
that's not really your fault for posting a link
that's just me being me
I am not attacking you personally in any way
I didn't delete it because you posted a link only answer, I deleted it because my question was low quality enough to result in a link only answer
Just like I wanted to delete my "joker is a whackjob" answer
because somebody posted the exactly right answer with a picture
there was no point in keeping my post because it didn't add anything worthwhile

I'm commenting on what you said on chat earlier, not on the deletion
@Flyk That's OK, I'm not taking it personally

@Walt good, I needed to make sure you knew because a lot of people assume that I'm malicious in my intent.

TBH I'm also not sure I share your opinion about questions that are easy to Google. Let's argue about that. :)

11:03 AM
basically my thought on the matter is that it doesn't matter if it's easy to google
it's only "easy to google" if you know how to google
and not many people actually know how to use a search engine to get what they want

@Flyk I don't think anyone trying to help around here could be in any way malicious

our job isn't to teach people how to use a search engine, it's to provide answers to questions

@Flyk But isn't that against the rules?
'showing a lack of research' or something

@Walt there is no rule
@Walt lack of research is literally the on hover text on the downvote button
why would you have a rule for lack of research and then implement functionality to deal with lack of research?
"it's the fourth link on google" is not an answer, neither is "let me google that for you"
Writing a question and answer that becomes the first result on Google, that's an answer.
and it's highly useful for the rest of the internet

@Flyk ...I don't use it that much :O

11:06 AM
now sure, a wall size infographic doesn't really fit into the SE theme
I don't have one of the most viewed questions on Arqade by caring about whether stuff is easily Google-able
The fact it was easily Google-able is the reason the question is one of the most viewed questions on Arqade.

Duh, I leave for a small 5 minute break and the chat swells over.

because I took the result from the bottom of the first page on Google, and I posted content on SE that became the top result on the first page on Google
suddenly, everybody searching for that thing has a clear and useful answer as the first link

I dunno, I still don't like it much. I prefer SE questions and answers to be unique, and not of the duh-obvious variety
But whether a question is too easy is subjective, I guess

@Walt oh sure, the former is much higher quality, but the latter pays the bills
visitors = views, views = ad impressions, ad impressions = SE get paid
no point in having the best question and answer on the internet if it's about something that nobody cares about

@NapoleonWilson It's mainly Flyk saying interesting stuff and me furiously clicking on 'retry' :/

11:11 AM
@Flyk No, he didn't. But fortunately in the meantime someone else posted another correct answer. And I still haven't found the time to recheck the movie and confidentally downvote that stupid gun hammer answer.

Even Google doesn't load properly. I resorted to Bing :(

@NapoleonWilson the gun hammer answer is the correct answer -.-

@Flyk No, they don't.

@NapoleonWilson I'm not having this discussion, you know that's basically a massive derail of the current one that ends in a large argument
let's instead laugh at @Walt for using Bing

@Flyk :'-(

11:13 AM
:(

What did I miss
@NapoleonWilson Why not?

@Flyk Sure.
@Walt "Why not" what?

Why is it wrong

@Walt Oh, I'm not 100% sure yet if it's wrong. But I would surmise you could still fire that gun, it's not that his finger holding back the hammer would have considerably enough force to stop a revolver. And really, the obvious answer is that it's the friggin' Joker.

I guess it would've been more accurate if he'd put his finger between the hammer and the cylinder
(People actually do that)

11:17 AM
It's some stupid nitpick answer that completely ignores proper character motivation. And that I utterly distaste, even if turns out it was correct, which I still doubt very much.

@Walt yes but this is clearly in the realm of movie realism/movie mistakes if you go to that depth
the joker was holding the hammer, it's clear the intentions of the script were that the gun wouldn't work

That finger on the hammer is something that noone ever notices, neither the audience nor the in-movie characters, so it can't be such an easy-out answer when there's a waaay better one right around the corner.

Is that an arrow on the gun, BTW?
Pointing to the hammer

@Flyk But thanks for making me look into the actual script, I hope I can find a copy.
But well, not that a single downvote and comment would make the slightest difference to such an HNQ-unbalanced thread now anyway.

@NapoleonWilson Not saying it's the best answer there. But it does look like a valid answer

11:22 AM
@Walt Unfortunately the community says, though, that's it's the overwhelmingly super-duper-best answer of the world evar. I guess that's primarily what's pissing me there. But well, everyone needs an obsession.
And obsession is a game for young men, to yet again reference The Prestige.

You and I both know that HNQ\A have nothing to do with quality\degree of difficulty
(...well, that's a bit harsh - some are good, but definitely not all or even most)

@Walt Well, I'm always glad when a great question ends up there (and Game of Thrones tends to have that potential, though, not all of their question are great, but we had some really good ones a while ago). And am equally hurt when it's an ID question.

@NapoleonWilson speaking of these questions, tell me GoT isn't just a collection of rules I actually have to memorize

But sure, the HNQ are definitely not working as they should and everybody on SE knows they're inherently flawed but just doesn't care.

(still haven't really started watching this show)

11:30 AM
@Walt Uh, no, don't let those recent questions distract you. ;-)
@Walt Oh, it's great. I thought you were the HBO enthusiast here. Until you haven't watched all of Game of Thrones don't ever ask me about your stupid Sopranos! ;-(
@Walt Well, afterall "it's like a history lesson, with boobs".

@NapoleonWilson I know some things about it, but haven't watched a full episode, really
@NapoleonWilson I think timing's essential with some shows and that it's the case with the Sopranos

And we all know "history lessons are like a fair, but instead of the rides you have to remember dates"

Whereas GoT can wait, it's otherworldly and well-produced, so there's very little risk of getting stale
The Wire might be another HBO example. I think it had much more impact during GW's reign

Hmm, I already have too much stuff to watch. Continue Ripper Street and Luther, start Justified, restart Elementary maybe. Continue Homeland maybe.
@Walt Never even heard a single thing about that (apart from its name, though).

Planning of continuing with Homeland, though not sure why :/
By restart Elementary do you mean rewatch?
@NapoleonWilson It's been lauded at the time as the Best Show Ever Made. While I'd disagree, it's an excellent and very unique show

11:40 AM
@Walt Partly. I started it when it started on TV, but then got out of it after a few episodes. But I recently got me a 1-year Amazon Prime account and I thought it would be worth revisiting, since I always regretted getting out of it.
@Walt What is it even about?

@NapoleonWilson Overall, about a police unit's struggle with Baltimore drug lords. But it's much more than that
Each season focused on a certain facet of the city and showed how corrupt\malfunctioning it really is

@Walt Hmm, I already heard the 3rd season would be not good, but I liked the first 2 seasons very much.

It's about urban decay, really. And it's one of the most encompassing, most realistic attempts to portray it on TV.
@NapoleonWilson Season 1 was great, but the show went off the rails halfway through season 2 and never really got back on track

@Walt Oh, at least it has a closed ending. It seems it never made it to German free-TV at all. But ugh, another one of those 60 episode blocks that demotivate you to engage right from the start. Hmm, I'll keep it in mind, I guess.
@Walt Don't they always say that?

best show ever made was obviously dexter, season 1 to 5

11:46 AM
@NapoleonWilson Of course. But this time I kinda got what they were trying to say (though I'm not sure it's even on my top 10 ever)
@Flyk Only liked season 4-5 myself. And I watched the whole thing :(

@Walt that's fine, as long as you didn't like season 6+

Best show ever made was obviously the first 2 seasons of Miami Vice!

@Flyk I'm actually repressing the fact I ever watched them
Season 8 somehow managed to outstink 6, which I didn't think possible

there was only one matrix film
there were only five seasons of dexter
abby sciuto is the best character on TV

@Flyk you mean 2 :P
@NapoleonWilson Wow, and I thought my most favorite show was old (1992) ;)

11:51 AM
Well, if you want it newer, take It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
@Walt Duh, 80s forever!

best show ever made was obviously NCIS
or Stargate SG1
or X Files

OK, you kinda redeemed yourself with that last one :P

Ugh, never seen a single one of those (well, ok, I've seen very few episodes of X-Files, which is obviously the wrong aproach for such a Lost-inspiring "just ask more and more unanswered questions"-thing like that).

(...though I don't consider X files to be the best ever, but I did like it at the time)

@NapoleonWilson actually from what I remember of X Files, a lot of the stuff that didn't make sense would make terrible questions here
and eveyrthing else was explained eventually
maybe I'll rewatch X Files so I can ask a bunch of more low quality questions to delete

11:54 AM
@Flyk everything? really?

But I don't want all my questions answered after waiting 7 years. That kills my motivation at some point (though, in Lost that point was reached within the first 2 seasons already).

@Walt well, from what I remember, X Files is older than I am though

@NapoleonWilson It was much more episodic that Lost though
Lots of Monster of the Week episodes

@Walt Sure, they also had those murder of the week things, and those I liked quite.

yeah, there was very little story arc in early X Files

11:56 AM
Its structure kinda inspired my 2nd favorite show though

@Flyk Seems unlikely, though.
@Walt Which would be?
@Walt And what's that 1992 thing anyway?

A WB show with an idiotic-sounding title based on a cinematic flop about a cheerleader battling monsters. And hands down the best written show to ever come out of the US

@Walt Ugh, really? I hope you're talking about 2nd best (ok, you have to, since that's not from '92, I'm not that old).

Hmm. never heard about that. You with your Baltimore, are you from there, or is that town just such a crime-ridden hell-hole to make such great shows?

12:02 PM
This show could be only comprised of 2 episodes (Three Men and Adena and Subway), and it'd still be my top show.
Oh, hell-hole, defo
And I'm totally serious about BtVS. And I'm no fantasy\sci-fi\vampire fanboy

@Walt Yeah, we had that discussion before. I also liked it at the time (and have probably seen the whole thing), but it wore out for me. Just doesn't have that rewatchability, which isn't necessarily bad.

Odd, rewatchability is actually one thing I hold in its favor
The fact that it's the perfect combination of episodic and serial makes it highly rewatchable for both binges and random sampling
When it comes down to it, I'm putzy script guy. Shows (and films) IMO are about writing, and more specifically: 1. Plot, 2. Characters, 3. Dialogue (in that order)
If something excels in all 3, it ranks high with me. (Though if something excels in 2 of the 3, I'll also let it slide)

@Walt Hmm, as long as you're not one of those total "bad writing" snobs. ;-(

@NapoleonWilson Examples?

Hmm, as short as that is, it isn't too wrong at all. But I guess I'll refrain from upvoting for now.
@Walt Meh, was just a throwaway comment. But there are people who notice writing and character nuances as bad where I can only say "how'd you even notice that?".

12:16 PM
If I dislike something, I could always not watch
But some shows these days are maybe not awful but definitely formulaic

Well, formulaic stuff has always existed, really.

Yeah, but surely not in the 'golden age of television' snort

Meh, it's a question of quantity, I guess. More stuff -> more high quality stuff, but well, that's only half the equation.

...more dross too, yeah

I especially don't get into sitcoms anymore so much. Though, How I Met You're Mother is one of the best things of recent years. But so much other stuff that comes out now just feels like a trip back to the 90s and I wonder, "what for? do we need yet another premise for the same characters/jokes over and over?"
But maybe I don't do those things justice by not watching them in the first place. But well, I just don't wanna.

@NapoleonWilson If you don't like sitcoms you might as well watch Louie, he didn't even try to make one

Yet another middle-class family here, yet another hip twens there, yet another single-man here, yet another office company there.

Premise is not really the most important thing about a sitcom these days anyway. It's mostly about the characters & jokes

@Walt Sure, but I'm maybe just deterred from engaging right from the start. Or I might really get snobbish too in my old days, now that the quantity of stuff becomes too vast. Which brings the danger of missing out pearls, though.

Some sitcoms just toss aside their initial premise, skating on the lovability of their characters alone
@NapoleonWilson You're not missing much IMO. I'm a 90s guy through and through :)

Yay, Friends (and I got the feeling just about every second someone comes right around the corner yelling "Frasier!").

12:31 PM
Friends \o/

Do prefer Fraiser to Friends somewhat
Back half of Friends was (6-10) was kind of lame. Frasier held up a bit better
Though Friends was a bit more natural. Frasier had an annoying passion for forced puns
Not unlike some HIMYM jokes, to be honest :P

@NapoleonWilson I'm barely aware of other uses for the internet

12:45 PM
@Walt Huh, what about porn?!

oh, there's that now?
Ultron reviews: good, not great

I'm glad we quickly moved on from porn
I was already starting to type out my rant

@Walt So it's out already (and thanks for switching topics)?
@Flyk What rant? You no like porn?

not in the us it ain't
prob. europe
TBH it sounds ridiculously overloaded

Oh yes, some of those things Europe gets earlier. Hmm, I wonder when the best time for the MCU challenge would be then. It's not like just a few days this time, the US don't seem to get it before May 1st.

12:49 PM
@NapoleonWilson no, I don't.

@Walt Well, it's an Avengers movie afterall. And this time they get 2 new guys even. (and from the trailers it seems Rhodie/War Machine's in it, too).

not even sure I'll see it in theaters. I didn't even like Guardians, and the critics loved that

From the tag wiki I wrote, Rhodie is in it

@NapoleonWilson and... Vision? Who's Jarvis? Or something

@Walt Oh, hmm, not sure what to say to this. It was nice, even if I wouldn't laud it into the total heaven that people have lauded it into. But was a great entertaining ride, I think.
@Walt What's Vision? Jarvis is Tony's super OS that he has since the days of Iron Man.

12:53 PM
@NapoleonWilson It was just confusing most of the time. Was I supposed to know what Nova is? Or any of those other planets?

@Walt No, you weren't. So what?

@NapoleonWilson Yeah, but he becomes a... superhero? Or robot? Is my cluelessness palpable yet
@NapoleonWilson So it was mostly just noisy and disjointed. I expected it to be may more irreverent than it was

@Walt Hmm, don't know. All I know is that Tony builds some other super AI that gets out of control (the eponymous Ultron). Or is that actually Jarvis gone evil? Well, I'm a total comic-ignoramus.

ditto :(

@Walt Why noisy? Just because of some planets and cultures you don't know the background of? Isn't much different with the movies that were apparently the biggest model for Guardians. But to each his own.

12:58 PM
@NapoleonWilson Yeah,I prefer some background so I could actually care about things. I didn't even know why it was so important to put that infinity stone in Nova (sp?) and why they're more capable of guarding it than others.The plot was a bit of a mess.

@Walt Oh my, questions that never actually came to my mind at all. There we have it again, I obviously like too much stuff and don't give a damn about plot-holes. ;-)

I guess it was just my expectations, people said it's better than usual Marvel fare
