Boy was I late on that one. I guess happy new year when it comes then.
@StephanKolassa I'm actually wondering if this is related to some ML boom in learners. I've noticed that these kinds of questions usually are loaded with "ML speak" which isn't typical of people who learn this stuff in normal stats courses.
The usual giveaway is when somebody refers to "variables" as "features". There used to be a useful table for this stuff that I found amusing but I'm at a loss for where I found it.

I don't know where such a table exists. However I have also found that there are some parallel terms and methodology in ML vs stats.
Anyone using Rust for statistics or machine learning? I just started learning it out of general interest and also to write performant extensions for my Python code.
