@whuber Is that a permanent change or a bug?
By the way I have a question related to a Cross Validated question that I cited here:

Q: Matching similar eigenspectra in two matrices

user1271772I have two matrices for which part of the eigenspectrum of one matrix, very closely resembles the eigenspectrum of another matrix, but the only way I'm (currently) able to verify this is quite inelegant. I am open to any solution, but to present examples here of what I seek, I find it easiest to ...

You can see that I cited this answer from CV: stats.stackexchange.com/a/154730/211119, but I think this one is much better: stats.stackexchange.com/a/205715/211119 (1) because the title is much clearer and more general and more accurate, and (2) because the answer tells us that not only does the sign not matter, but any non-zero scalar (doesn't have to be +1 or -1) works. However the second question was closed, and I was reluctant to post a link to a "closed" question.
The closed question and answer seem to be better than the open one (though I do appreciate that the closed question was asked later in time). What do people here think of this?

@NikeDattani It's perfectly fine to link to a closed question. In some circumstances, a closed question might be automatically deleted by robots, but that won't happen in the case of this closed question, which has at least 1 answer with positive score.
