@NickCox, what is the past tense of zing?

sing -> sang; ring -> rang; zing -> ???

zang works for me until someone tells me it is offensive in Aztec or whatever.

Anyone got serially downvoted two days ago? Just received the notifications, 4 downvotes in 26 minutes (for the record, I do receive downvotes, I think that's normal, but never that frequently)

@Firebug Usually, serial downvotes are reversed automatically within 24 hours. It seems like that hasn't happened here. I'll look into what can be done.

I've found this meta post meta.stackexchange.com/a/126857/320588 which contains the suggestion "If the 24 hours have already passed and the suspicious votes have not been reversed, you can then flag one of your own posts for "in need of moderator intervention" and explain in detail what happened."

It also recommends "It is strongly preferred that you do not ask about serial voting on a site's meta. The details of the investigation are private and will not be divulged, and there's nothing that normal users can do. Such meta posts often lead to inappropriate speculation as to the cause, who the voters are, etc., and they also tend to result in people engaging in additional targeted voting."

@Sycorax thanks for the pointers! The downvotes do not bother me (perhaps the answers weren't that good anyways), just wanted to check if I was being targeted or if it was more general. I'll check again tomorrow then, thanks!

@Firebug As a long-time mod, I know well the problems with "vote stalkers." The reputation loss is immaterial--the pity of it is that someone is sending false signals to the community about the quality of posts because they are voting on the person rather than the message.

In your case, I recommend sitting tight. Notify the mods if this appears to happen again, or if you just slowly accumulate unexplained downvotes over time. I can't say any more in this forum--I'm sure you understand.

@gung I expect that question to Nick was intended as humour but if serious I'd have to plump for "zinged".
