@gung Relatedly, the medieval meaning of astrologus is "astronomer". "Real" observation of the stars, calculating moon phases (important for setting the Easter date) and of eclipses went hand in hand with astrology as we know the term. It's good to be careful about old terms - in their time they often meant something different than what we mean by them now.
