I'm looking for some form of motivation.
I thought I could find it in tuning SGA parameters for Oracle instances.
Turned out I was wrong.

Morning
@JohnK.N. Same. If you find some please pass it my way.

I thought I'd find some form of extrinsic motivation in purchasing luxury consumer goods, but after looking at the power specifications of the Apple Watch 6 (18h) compared to my old Fitbit Versa 2 (4days) I gave up.

Did that chatroom get deleted? Or is there some special method for searching frozen rooms or something? Can't seem to find it with minimal effort :\

4:02 PM
I can enter that room. It's frozen so I can't speak there of course, but the room isn't deleted, it's just frozen.

just click on that moved to chat

4:14 PM
Are you trying to open the link in private mode perhaps? I've just tried that and got a "Page not found"

iirc you need 10k network rep to see frozen or deleted rooms. Might not be accurate but there is some threshold

Oh, maybe that's the issue as well

Rep needed is per chat server so meta SO and SE chats are separate
Just checked and it is 10k
Ah no the 10k is only for deleted rooms not frozen
The target room is deleted, which happens when comments are moved to chat without ensuring there are at least 15 messages. I've mentioned that to Max before, but that chat movement may predate that conversation

the room has exactly 15 messages ;)

Q: Should we flag an answer for deletion if it is essentially the same as an earlier answer?

Jon of All TradesIf Alice answers "reverse the polarity" in January, and then in July Bob answers with "try reversing the polarity," should we flag the second for moderation action and deletion? It seems like such an answer is just clutter, which SE is generally against. From a quick search on the master Meta s...

Yes but the last message was Feeds saying the room had been deleted
Anyway I fixed it @PeterVandivier

but the retention design seems not good to me. You get all the effort to move chats into rooms, which are later deleted? For inactivity? And some of the posters cannot even see it, even though their messages are there?

Yeah well

@PaulWhite that was the 16th!
but maybe less than 15 were moved upon creating the room and more added later

I would agree that mod moves to chat rooms should not be deleted but that's not how it works. When asked, the response was essentially that mods need to be aware of the issue.
@ypercubeᵀᴹ it may be the rule is >15. It's in the chat FAQ. Too hard to look up on mobile

righty
>Will these rooms exist forever?
Rooms will exist indefinitely, so long as there is at least one person actively talking in the room. A room is considered worth retaining if it has more than 15 messages by at least 2 users.
we missed the hot-spot by 1

That's new for me.
