I've hit the surprising problem that I'm finding it easier to write about main character's mother than the main character herself

This is giving me a lot to think about

@AncientSwordRage Usually when that happens to me and my brain starts really loving a side character way more than the main character, that's my cue to switch characters for a while. It's like the side character beating their fists on your brain shouting to be explored

@Sciborg once I'm able to get the side character scene out of my, I think I'll be good to refocus

If it helps, sometimes I like to dump out a few chapters from their POV in a side document just to get the urge to develop them out, and then I can reference it in future.

@Sciborg great plan... I'm currently writing as much as I can when I can, which also means writing while walking to work, but it's been too cold lately
