Mew
What drivers do you have installed (if any)?

This is fresh install after update, no drivers have been installed by me. But previously i was tring to install fglrx drivers, and official amd drivers from amd.com site.

Mew
Install the recommended driver from the "Proprietary Drivers" section. I think it's in Software Settings.

i got no proprietary drivers found, and no drivers found

Mew
Hmm. Try installing them from AMD then.

8:55 AM
you mean to download the officials ?

Mew
Yes. Install the official drivers.

ok,

Mew
If that worked, tell me.

i got one more question, in synaptics i see that xserver-xorg-video-ati installed

Mew
yes?

9:01 AM
xserver-xorg-video-randeon //-r128 and mach64
yes all four are installed

Mew
are the streaks still appearing?

yes, this drivers were installed on fresh install of ubuntu 14.04
problem still apear
*appear

Mew
hmmm.
Have you configured the driver yet in the control panel?

what is the name of controll panel ?
in 14.04

Mew
Catalyst Control Center (i think)

9:04 AM
hmm.. it's not in the system
only settings regards to video is in system settings>displays

Mew
did you download the drivers from this link? www2.ati.com/drivers/legacy/…

i've download amd-catalyst-14-4-rev2-linux-x86-x86-64-may6.zip

Mew
from where?

but i did not installed it, because i want to ensure if i should uinstall xorg drivers before i install this one
form amd.com official

Mew
You have a raedon mobility 4500 HD right?

9:07 AM
yes

Mew
is it dedicated or integrated?
i assume it's dedicated
Because if it's dedicated, those drivers are the ones made for that graphics card.

is dedicated

Mew
I think the AMD drivers will automatically take care of dependance resolution.
So, download that file and install it.

lspci -nn | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV710/M92 [Mobility Radeon HD 4530/4570/545v] [1002:9553]

Mew
Ok.
That is DEFINITELY the right driver then.

9:13 AM

can you past one again this site before you click download
i got download not compleated

Mew
ok

so uninstall xorg drivers from system?
i will do it throught synaptics

Mew
Um
I don't think so.

9:19 AM
are u sure?

Mew
The ATI driver should do it itself or tell you if there's something wrong.
If you want to, go ahead.

ok i will instal ati without pugre xorg
and there is an error one or more tools required for installation can not be found in the system

Mew
what are the tools called?

hmm..
i'll type all error here
install the rquired tools before instalin the fglrx driver. Optionaly run the installer with --force option to install without the tiils. Forcing the install will disable [bla bla bla]. Not recommended. See /usr/share/[..] log for more det

Mew
one second...
Try sudo apt-get install linux-generic followed by a reboot followed by sudo apt-get install gcc.
And then try again.

9:31 AM
still same error
iex after typing sudo apt-get install gcc i got this packet was installed autoamticaly and it;s no longer required
ok i saw what is in log file
/lib/modules/3.13.0-34-generic/build/include/linux/version.h
he need this

Mew
hmmm
Try installing linux-headers

i got that linux-headers are up to date

Mew
hmm. odd.

9:47 AM
yes this is odd
i will add, that there is not stripes when i'm not using eizo (only laptop screen) or resolution on eizo i set lower then hd (lower then 1920x...)

Mew
Apparently there is some bad news.
AMD does not support your card.
meaning, you need to use the free AMD drivers.

where did you found it ?
*find

Mew
then back to WHY those lines show up...
You're SURE it's just Ubuntu?

so free drivers are not working properly

Mew
well, maybe.

9:51 AM
nop:P but ubuntu is fine ;p

Mew
maybe not
You can rule out hardware problems?

but.. what if i get back to 12.04.1

Mew
Technically not supported

f**k
so buy new pc ;p

Mew
are you SURE it's a software problem?

9:52 AM
yes i'm 100% sure

Mew
hmm. Sadly I don't use ATI/AMD, so I can't help that much.

on ubuntu 13 and lower also on windows 7 there is no problem

Mew
I'm sorry, but I just don't know where to go from here. Maybe someone else on AU can give you advice.

but finally i wantet to get rid of it

Mew
Good luck!

9:54 AM
