The issue is that chat's events on #input get handled before the userscript's, but I don't know how that situation came about.

I think the only thing that changed is that the fix for whatever issue you were whining about before went in, so not sure why that would have had any impact on things, hm. :/

@jcolebrand there's an animation bug in 1.4 that appeared due to some changes to the "present users" list that's fixed in 1.5

Apparently in 1.5 jQuery.data(elem) no longer returns the data object, it returns the data object wrapped in some additional object that has jQueryRandomCrap as its only member -_-
