@MatthewHaugen: Bit puzzled by you unilaterally posting an AD given that it appeared to me that both Connor and you were requesting that when taking actions within SE that the community do so as a community. What am I missing?

@Blunders I did it of my own accord, as a user more than a moderator. Similar to how Connor posted on Reddit to advertise the site, I wanted to get an ad out on there before the year ends and they're all reset anyway. We began that flagship community ads post in the interest of getting people thinking, and it did that. Just like I did, if you'd like to go out on your own and post community ads under your name on other sites, you'd be welcome to do that.

It's in all of our best interest to promote the site, so we'll make posts to remind users to do that and, like I said, get people thinking, but in general nobody wants to be stuck for several weeks waiting for meta to cycle, especially since we wouldn't use featured for a redundant post, before we can take any action. Especially on [gamedevs.se], which doesn't seem to get many clicks anyway. There're better uses for all of our times, like thinking up new ideas for site promotions.
