@AnnonomusPenguin I saw the status update on the question about updating the tour & help center -- thanks! The tour looks much better now. (Maybe that meta question doesn't need to stay featured?) But I noticed that the on-topic page in the help center is very sparse -- was it that way before? It doesn't contain an on-topic list, just two paragraphs saying "look around" and "you could try other sites" (paraphrases). It's also weird that it's not the first link under "asking". Odd.

Well, sort of. Most of that was in version 1, which was created by Laura in 2013, which was a couple years after the site went into beta. So this must've been imported from the FAQ that predated the help center. Some of that text (like the "this is not a forum" part) sure looks like SE boilerplate, but I don't actually know. Anyway... the help-center stubs have obviously undergone some evolution since then.

@MonicaCellio to be perfectly honest it is Writers so it should be decently long :)

Beefing it up is on my todo list but there are only so many hours in a day
