6:23 AM
@Mithrandir24601 No joke. OTOH, we are very good and regular customers.

2 hours later…
8:29 AM
@Stephie Ahh fair, always nice to have such friendly fishmongers :D

12 hours later…
8:12 PM
I think my cat was beaten up
or maye she was the one who beat up the other
but with her being young, inexperienced, female and on the small side, I don't think the odds are on her side
she doesn't seem to have taken it too badly though
Ouch! She's missing a claw and bleeding
hopefully it's only the "fingernail" part and not the "finger" part
phew, not missing, just bleeding a bit

1 hour later…
9:45 PM
@rumtscho Wounds from catfights are notorious for getting infected. Watch her carefully over the next few days for pain, fever and/or lethargy. Get her on antibiotics right away if necessary.

@Jolenealaska thank you
I think she didn't get scratched
instead, it seems she scratched the other cat and the old claw hull was torn away

Clavamox is the drug we usually used at my last clinic.

she has the new, small hull to protect the toe, and she had a little bit of blood coming out where the old claw was still attached

Good. Still, watch carefully.

OK, will do
The fight wasn't that long, I went out on the terrace when I heard them screaming
and Edda came to the terrace very soon, so maybe the other cat took off when it noticed that she has home advantage
she didn't want to come in though, just sat there watching intently

9:49 PM
When it comes to fighting, cats have no sense.

it does make sense to me

Housecats pick fights with bears and moose all the time.

my first thought was, these must be toms!

That makes me think of my favorite musical these days. Do you ever like hip-hop?

not really, but my music taste has been expanding lately

9:53 PM
I have never enjoyed hip-hop until:
it's not intentionally cued up.
The beginning is where to start.

yes, it does have a certain takes-you-along quality

And the story is fascinating

I am not a musical type, but if it also has a good story, I could put it on my listening list to hear it in full
lately, I have started "sweetening" doing the chores by listening to stuff during doing them

This is perfect foe that

at first I started with a podcast, but because I am listening to the historical episodes and there are lots of them, I decided to start alternating them with audiobooks
just caved in this week and bought an Audible subscription

10:01 PM
Luckily, I've been gifted Audible for the year.

I am in the second chapter so far and loving it
it is critical of American culture though, so I don't know if it would be your thing
@Jolenealaska that's a great gift
I find it somewhat expensive, because it isn't a true flatrate, more like an obligation to buy at least one book per month :)
but the alternatives have worse conditions and usually a very small selection
and I find Audible's selection already quite bad
I have a very long list of very specific books I want to read, and I was hoping to make a dent in that one by listening
but only very few of those are available as audiobooks

Critical of America's culture is fine. You can always cancel and come back! Before I was gifted the subscription, I would just join to get whatever book I wanted.

I had somewhat better luck with the books on Science's review list
that's where the dinosaur book comes from

I highly recommend The Song of Ice and Fire series, even if you've already read them. They're just nice to have in the background.

I read them recently in full, so I don't think I will repeat them soon

10:07 PM
I gotta run, I need to sign something at the landlord's office.

You know, if you like The song of ice and fire, you will probably love Robin Hobb's stuff
have you read Fitz and Fool?
less gritty I must admit, and more emotional
but I love it sooooo much

Nope. I'll look at it in a few minutes when I get back.

also other series of hers, like Liveship traders
OK, good luck with the landlord
