8:12 AM
hellloooo?

8:57 AM
@ElendilTheTall Well!

8 hours later…
4:55 PM
@Stephie Really, does he normally sleep outside?
By choice?

5:25 PM
@Cerberus yeah. During the dry and hot days of summer, he discovers his feral side. He loves to hide somewhere in the tall grass and snooze.

@Stephie Interesting, I've never heard of house cats sleeping outside all night.

Lol, not sleeping at night. He's quite nocturnal. He comes home in the morning and sometimes seems almost "hung over". Eats, then chrashes on the sofa for a few hours.
Haven't seen you in a while, @Cerberus. What's new?

Jay
look guys! my team has a page on stackoverflow

@Jay neat!
And hi!

Jay
5:40 PM
hi!
how's everyones summer going
i had a crisis this morning. i found my first white hair

Poor @Jay! But is that really that much of an issue? I've always (= once I was beyond the stupid teen stage) liked a little silver dusting.

@Stephie Ah, OK, that makes sense!
Not much new here!
@Jay Several of the kids I teach already have the occasional white hair at 12.
So you're basically 12.

Jay
lol
do people really get white hair that early

Yes.
Especially those with very black hair.
One is of Turkish descent.

Jay
hmmm

5:46 PM
The other one I don't remember, but maybe he was Chinese.

Jay
i guess i feel a little better
thanks guys :D

Good.

Jay
the summer is beautiful right now
the temp is on average 24C
sunny with some wonderful breeze

Good.
It's 20 here with rain.
Which is acceptable.
Because the rain will stop just before I have to leave.

We had a hot two weeks, temperatures up to 30C.

Jay
5:48 PM
where are you heading to?

Yikes, 30.
We have a few hot days too, two weeks ago.
It was terrible.
Off to tutor this girl.

Down to 26 today, less towards the weekend. And we finally had some rain.
I need to work a bit tonight. I've a team retrospective scheduled for tomorrow and need to read up on some theories of communication.
(That will be tomorrow's topic and I want to give the team a bit of material to "take home".)

Oh, dear, theories of communication?

And of course find a suitable activity to let them experience the underlying problems.

I suppose role-playing could be useful?

5:59 PM
@Cerberus I have a multi-cultural team and last week we found some major "bugs" in the way team members comunicate, so we (or "I") decided to dig a bit deeper on how successful comunication works. We need to bring the real causes on the table to define how the team can improve.

Ah, that sounds good, especially if there's been...friction.

I sense a sender - receiver mismatch and lost information. Luckily not a real conflict, at least not yet. But I want to set the stage right now, at the beginning.

Ah, OK.
I wish you good luck!
Now I have to go, tschüß!

Thanks! Have fun!
