14:03
@JakeWilson If you think that the "sheet" in Peter's vision (Acts 10), wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air to kill and eat contained no common or unclean creatures then I cannot help you.
Peter's response leaves out that possibility: ""Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.". Why would Peter say such a thing if there were no common or unclean creatures there? Of course there were.
14:15
It is not my intention to convince you that you may eat pork. In fact, given how you clearly feel about it, I strongly encourage you not to eat pork; it is obviously sin for you. It is, however, my strong contention that it is wrong for you to try to bring those who are under no such conviction back under Law for "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.".
14:28
There are many who will "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.". And again, "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace." So, if abstaining from pork (or any of Torah) is not a matter of justification, then it may be eaten under grace by those who have such knowledge and it may be laid aside, in love, for the benefit of others.
Abstain in peace, brother.
