@MrGreenGold Where is the proof? First attest it here, then we will proceed. I haven't yet read Panchadashi. I confine myself with works of Adi Shankara only.

3:49 AM
@BasedShaiva I have attached proof. Panchadashi is the proof. Panchadashi is written by Vidyaranya, Pontiff of Sringeri Math. To say this is not proof of Shankara Advaitha is to erroneously claim Sringeri Acharya doesn't know Shankara Advaitha.
So you are obliged to accept Panchadashi as a valid Scripture regarding Shankara Advaitha

4:10 AM
@MrGreenGold none of your reference state satva means enlightenment.
Sattva isnt ananda
No scriptures say sattva is bliss
Also sattva isn't mandatory for enlightenment
There are tamasic people who got moksha
Gunas and enlightenment have no relation
There is path in tantra for tamasic people to walk

Q: Is it possible to cure diseases by accumulating good karma?

Dark KnightEverything that happenedes to us is due to good or bad karma. If we hurt people we will get bad karma and we might suffer due to it. So if someone got a disease(for example cancer) she might have done something wrong in her life(bad karma). Now she if she does good karma(like feading the poor) sh...

@MrGreenGold €give exact verses.

@Mr.Sigma.
I have given, I am again repoating it for you
Panchadashi Chapter 1
15. Prakriti (i.e. primordial substance) is that in which there is the reflection of Brahman, that is pure consciousness and bliss and is composed of sattva, rajas and tamas (in a state of homogeneity). It is of two kinds. .
16. When the element of sattva is pure, Prakriti is known as Maya; when impure (being mixed up with rajas and tamas) it is called Avidya. Brahman, reflected in Maya, is known as the omniscient Isvara, who controls Maya.
17. But the other (i.e. the Jiva, which is Brahman reflected in Avidya) is subjected to Avidya (impure sattva). The Jiva is of dif
@ParabrahmanJyoti read the above reference from Panchadashi. Only Ishwara is pure Sattva, and everything else is mixed. If Ishwara is enlightened, then it logically would follow that anyone who becomes pure Sattva will be enlightened.
@ParabrahmanJyoti if you say no, then explain yourself. Are you saying Panchadashi is wrong??

5:43 AM
Prakriti (i.e. primordial substance) is that in which there is the reflection of Brahman, that is pure consciousness and bliss and is composed of sattva, rajas and tamas (in a state of homogeneity). It is of two kinds. — It's saying that Brahman is bliss and pure consciousness not prakriti. Prakriti is composed of sattva, rajas and tamas.
the problem is with translation, it's ambigious.
Prakriti isn't bliss. It's insentient.

@ParabrahmanJyoti you said no Scripture says Sattva is bliss.
Panchadashi, Chapter 12
78. When there is a predominance of Sattva in the Vrittis, we realise, because of their purity, that bliss and consciousness are one and the same, but when Rajas predominates, because of its impurity, the bliss is obscured.

@MrGreenGold Again wrong comprehension. It's just saying that when Sattwa is in abundance, then one could realize the bliss. It's not saying that Sattwa is bliss.

That is what was meant by Saying sattva is bliss.
It means when you become pure sattva you realise
@Mr.Sigma.

@MrGreenGold There is no guarantee. It's just saying that if you could keep the window open, you might stumble upon wind. Opening window doesn't guarantee arrival of wind.

What where is it saying that there's no guarantee??
Where does it say "you may or may not"??
@Mr.Sigma.
@ParabrahmanJyoti you say "There are tamasic people who got moksha"
Give one example?? The tantras are for tamasic people, they help tamasic people become Sattvik and then attain enlightenment. Tantra is for tamasic people, when they start, it gradually purifies them into Sattva
@Mr.Sigma. you are simply adding your own idea into the verse. It has never said one could. It simply says you relaise Bliss.
@Mr.Sigma.you have still not read the next verse where it says only Ishwara is pure Sattva. all others are mixed. So if anyone becomes pure Sattva then all the qualities of Ishwara comes to him. Which includes realisation and bliss
@ParabrahmanJyoti

6:06 AM
@MrGreenGold What is Sattva?

It's so difficult to put an actual definition on gunas. It can be only charaterised by the effect it brings
@TheLittleNaruto
It literally means good
It brings about the effect of trannsparency, light, truth, compassion, happiness, bliss, cleanliness, devotion etc etc
Harmony

I give you a situation.
Say you're a sattvic person
And in front of you, somebody is attacking an innocent person and you know that.
What will you do?
That attacker is brutal and he is not going to listen to you.

@TheLittleNaruto from Panchadashi
Chapter 2
14. Non-attachment, forgiveness, generosity, etc., are products of sattva. Desire, anger, avarice, effort, etc., are produced by rajas. 15. Lethargy, confusion, drowsiness, etc., are produced by tamas. When sattva functions in the mind, merit is acquired; when rajas functions, demerit is produced.
@TheLittleNaruto ofcourse i will try to stop thr attack.

Do you think as per above definition of Sattva, you'll be able to stop ?

6:12 AM
2 mins ago, by TheLittleNaruto
That attacker is brutal and he is not going to listen to you.

Bhagavan Buddha, Murdered a thief in sleep, to save the ship
That's pure Sattva

I said Sattva is Harmony
Nope for what?? Be specific
When I say Buddha it's him in his past lives

Sattva can't give you courage to kill somebody otherwise existence of other two gunas is pointless.

Other two sattvas??
What??
Ok ok

6:13 AM
edited lol

It can and it will
Rama was purely sattvik
He killed Ravana
Same goes with Krishna
First tell me do you agree with Panchadashi and Advaita, bcuz I dont know what you believe
Sattva is courage

No because I never read them.

But are you an Advaiti or..?
I myself am a neo Advaiti
Bcause if you are Advaiti you will have to Agree with Panchadashi

I am not something like that, but I follow like Tantra's philosophy.

And we are discusing this entirely from the view point of Advaita
Tantra is what you do, But what is your opinion of Reality
Iif its Advaita then you have to accept Panchadashi

6:18 AM
Ok in that case I am out.

Hehe😂

Looks like the discussion can not be countered by other philosophy :P

It can be, but then its a different discussion

It's purely on advaita of Shankara
@MrGreenGold Yeah right

But all Hindus consider Rama and Krishna as pure Sattva
If they could fight any Sattvik can fight

6:20 AM
I don't.

Oh interesting
But do u consider them to be God?

Of course. They were God.

So God can be Rajasik or Tamasic??

In human form? Yes
I think your idea of other two gunas is not good.

But even in celestial form Vishnu and Shiva have killed many demons

6:22 AM
You consider them bad

Rajas is passion
Tamas is lethargy
A mix of this is evil
@TheLittleNaruto yes

@MrGreenGold I see.

See here, this is what I believe

Ok one silly question I have.

Ask ask
No silly question, 😂😂
Infact I'm into Yoga mainly

6:24 AM
Which food you consider good food? By good food I mean which can keep one's body healthy and fit.

Vegetation
*Vegetarian food

But one can use tamasic food to become sattvik
Like in Tantra, bhogo yogo jayate
The goal is to become sattvik, not to eat sattvik

@MrGreenGold Ok let's not deviate

As general rule eating Sattvik helps but there are exceptions
Ok

6:30 AM
Can excess of eating vegetarian food make you sattvic faster?
healthy and fit

@MrGreenGold see the word meaning carefully. Because of sattva you realise bliss.
Sattva is a instrument
It ain't Amanda by itself

Let's say I ate loads of vegetarian food than what my stomach can digest. Will it make me healthy and fit? @MrGreenGold

@MrGreenGold goal is to find oness

@ParabrahmanJyoti answer to the scriptures I have quoted
@TheLittleNaruto yes it wilk make you sattvik and healthy

@MrGreenGold You sure? Don't you think eating anything in excess will make the stomach upset?

6:37 AM
Who told you to eat in excess @TheLittleNaruto
Sattva in quality, Sattva in quantity

@MrGreenGold No one. I am just asking you.

Saattva is harmony
You can't take it to extreme, eating too much is Rajas

No let's just not come to conclusion now

You are confusing quantity with quality

@MrGreenGold I am asking about good food not gunas.

6:39 AM
Good food if eaten in excess is bad
Ofcourse

Yeah thank you

What's the point

Similarly Sattva Guna in excess can not be fruitful
All three gunas are required in equal proportion
Do you know Varna system?

Sattva guna in excess can't be good. Wrong
Sattva guna in excess is good

You have to logically prove that

6:42 AM
You have used Similarly...

@MrGreenGold Yeah because as per you Sattva literally means good. And I was talking about "good" food only.
In any case, I would insist you to re-read my argument on sattva and other two gunas.
See if you can counter me logically.

@TheLittleNaruto countering is logically is not needed as you are saying self contradictory statement

@MrGreenGold which one specifically?

@TheLittleNaruto see you yourself have said
I am asking about good food not gunas.
then you use the word similarly
moreover your statement boils down to
too much of good is not good

6:57 AM
Yes

thats a contradiction logically
too much of good is good

to say too much of good is bad give example
your food example wont work

I gave one already :)

becuase you are treating mono dimensional quality neglecting quantity
that is not good by definition
when we say good, we mean the net good or the resultant good
"I gave one already :)" I told you its wrong
total = quality + quantiy + etc etc
this total is Sattva that is talked about
If you have studied physics, when there is formula with multiple variables, to understand it, they keep all the other variables constant and vary only one to know its effect
like that when all others are kept optimal and only quality is analyzed
a particular food becomes sattvik
the moment you change the quantity you are changing the equation itself
so we always consider the net effect of good
the more the net good the better it is
??
@TheLittleNaruto

6 mins ago, by Mr Green Gold
like that when all others are kept optimal and only quality is analyzed
29 mins ago, by TheLittleNaruto
All three gunas are required in equal proportion

Sattva guna in excess is fruit full
eating too much sattva guna is not sattva guna in excess
eating too much is rajasic

@MrGreenGold edited ^
I am relating to what you said

All three gunas in equal proportion is required for equilibrium
What is the goal for equal proportion??
If equilibrium is the goal then yes
If liberation is the goal then no, you need as much sattva as possible
Eating too much is Rajasic. You should not do that. We dont need Rajasic
It will reduce that Sattva

When you say someone is Rajasic, it doen't mean Sattva is completely nullifies within him. For example a king should have Rajas guna to rule and tamas to kill in war to protect his people. At the same time he should have sattva when he needs to take care of his praja.
Shree Rama was like that.
That what I meant when I said all three gunas are required in equal proportions

Wrong
Killing doesn't mean tamas
Ruling doesn't mean Rajas
Killing in a just war is Sattva
Killing for pride money fame is Rajas

7:16 AM
Hmm

Killing for no reason is tamas
Same goes to ruling
Tyranny is tamas
Angry careless rule is rajas
Just rule is sattva
Rama is pure sattva
