@RakeshJoshi General based on that question and answer

4:41 AM
@RakeshJoshi yes but this talks only of Brahmins and non Brahmins not the full Varna system

1 hour later…
5:51 AM
@HinduFeminist Welcome to Hinduism chatroom
Which verse of kaama sutra are you talking about?
Also understand the fact, if you will cherry pick the verses, that will definitely get us nowhere.

Kama Sutra 5.2 says a man can make love to courtesans.

6:12 AM
@HinduFeminist There is nothing like that. Read from actual text: archive.org/details/TheKamaSutraOfVatsyayana/page/n141/mode/2up
and especially give extra attention to last para of 5.2

God
good morning little naruto

Good Morning Archit kun
kun is a Japanese word used to show respect to young ones like we have this suffix "Ji" @Archit

Oh
You see anime?

A lot!

No wonder naruto😂

6:23 AM
😂 😂

My friend sees and he’s learnt Japanese specifically for this

haha! There was a time like 4-5 years back when I used to practice Japanese Script

Can’t understand anything

in anime? or the script?

Alphabets

6:24 AM
Yeah nobody would understand unless you learn
@Archit If you search my username on Google, you'll find me all over internet.

@HinduFeminist see you have to understand one thing. Hinduism is something which doesn’t discriminate at all. Over time yes due to corruptions of the Kaliyuga things get distorted. A great deal of texts have been burned by invaders and also interpolated like the current version of Ramayana Uttarakanda
There is no concept like women
The concept is human
Male female of every species is an entirely normal and natural thing:- what do our principles say? Man woman are similar to two wheels of a chariot and have to be together in Dharma Artha Kāma Moksha
One cannot base their views on dharma due to one or two interpolated verses. References of kings like Chandragupta Maurya having women soldiers guarding his gates
A rule being made in Mahabharata like no women can participate in war? Such a rule was needed because it was common for women to participate in war eg. Krishna satyabhama, Dasharatha Kaikeyi
You cannot apply modern feminist views on an eternal religion
Please see my bookmarks where honourable seniors have given posts showing even women take janeu and practise Vedic studies
Puranas talk about various hells being there for adultery
Adultery is rare- ancient dharmic mindsets are not like modern America or something where such rudimentary concepts can be applied. Ancient dharmic mindsets respects everyone
read the Garuda Purana which gives even daughters equal rights as sons to do tarpanam etc for forefathers. These one or two Smrutis like Manu and all have been severely interpolated by Germans and britishers who still hold manuscripts of original texts or burned them
Just to degrade our dharma
Dharma is not what is allowed and what is not as Smritis. It is not so bookish. It is based on common sense and scriptures like Gita etc to guide you
Explain this uninterpolated verse from manusmriti- यत्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते रमन्ते तत्र देवताः। यत्रैतास्तु न पूज्यन्ते सर्नास्तत्राफलाः क्रियाः? Where women are worshipped, there the Gods sport where they aren’t all deeds are unfruitful
@TheLittleNaruto tried learning it went over my head
@TheLittleNaruto little naruto or another name? Worldwide presence ha 😉

6:43 AM
@Archit lol not little naruto but "TheLittleNaruto" 😉

@HinduFeminist one cannot knit pick interpolated and misinterpreted texts and term Hinduism as misogynist sorry. These concepts are beyond common American and other modern mindsets.

user86354I want to know the procedure of reenergising the gemstones.We were them for long time so should we reenergise then time to time. If so then how should we do that.

@TheLittleNaruto am I correct up? Maybe little extra hyper I got but

@Archit No!

I couldn't find few things. I'll search today may be!

Wah which yajna?
You do at home?
Kids?

@Archit I haven't started any yajna yet. But I'll look up Gayatri Pariwar site if there is any yajna for a bachelor
and who is not initiated

7:28 AM
Why don’t you call the family Brahmin and sit with him while he does it?

@Archit I don't live in my native town, So I can't call them.
Also this lockdown.......

7:47 AM
@TheLittleNaruto - hows it going . Saw your msg to take the discussion to chatroom. but i think it didn't last long in here !

@Carmensandiego Hey!
haha yeah
They didn't respond when I shared a correct reference.

8:35 AM
@Carmensandiego I think You could have edited the same answer and mentioned that at the start of the post like you did in this answer. There was no need of posting another answer.

8:48 AM
@TheLittleNaruto Thought about it. But i felt edit is meant for cases where the answer doesn't change, and one is just providing additional details or fixing grammar. In this case a new answer was required as the old one was way off the mark

@Carmensandiego Got it

@TheLittleNaruto lost 20 rep points as a result :-(

maybe i undelete it and edit it :-)

:D
Do you like Indian classical music? @Carmensandiego

@Archit I agree
No doubt about it

Someone asked a nice question- how does Brahma look

I would wonder that

6
Q: How does Brahma look?

aniket kumar singhDoes Brahma look like an old deity, having white hair? What is his body complexion - red, golden or something else. Does he use rosaries for chanting? If so then which rosaries does he use(rudraksha or tulasi mala)? Which type of tilak does he put on his forehead - urdhava pundra (u shaped tilak ...

Question link?

1:46 PM
Just voted for him

@TheLittleNaruto i don't think he is old

@RakeshJoshi He isn't.

Even the tikka aspect is intriguing urdhva Pundra or tripundra or his own?
@RakeshJoshi he’s depicted so everywhere

@HinduFeminist check my posts on women and Hinduism
Then you have to accept that old age (jaraaa vyadhi) affects other lokas too

See I know during puja and all yellow dhoti (pitambaram) is given to Vishnu and white dhoti is given to Brahma

1:48 PM
Color has nothing to do with that

@RakeshJoshi there’s a concept like that
?

They say jaraa and mrityu is exclusive to earth

@RakeshJoshi did you write the janeu women answer? I’ve bookmarked and voted for one
@RakeshJoshi interesting
Are these gods - annamaya kosha, sukshma shareer gods or karana deha gods?
You have to still explain me the shudra janeu thing when you’re in a mood 😂 not now

A: Rules for wearing yagyopavit by women (yes it is possible)

Rakesh JoshiVedas do not have any gender based discrimination. When it comes to vaidika dharma and practices both men and women enjoy same freedom. However, after the advent of sanyasa, the society slowly turned towards more male dominated and male chauvinistic in nature. Slowly women were deprived from thei...

Very nice answer Have bookmarked this and kept
Just saw and voted recently

If you go as per geeta some verses say its birth based (9.32-33) some say its based on guna

Nahi not this one

1:58 PM
Also have post on women and vedas

The one where Shudras are allowed to have Upanayana the janmano jayate one
@RakeshJoshi 👌
This one link which I sent deserves 15-20 votes
Which of your answers would you recommend? Will read and vote
I think people on our site have stopped voting only. This women Janeu one has 4 including my vote whereas it deserves 15-20

The moot point is that even if someone is BORN in a shudra family but he should be initiated into vedas if he is eligible i.e genuine aspiration for veda then he should be initiated and if he does proper sadhana then he can become brahmin too

You know Keshav Srinivasan style
@RakeshJoshi agree

Its a taboo about women so i have posted many questions on women @Archit @HinduFeminist

Thank you

2:01 PM
I don't subscribe to his views and many of answers

Okay
@RakeshJoshi actually I was talking of this janeu women answer of your smile getting 15-20 votes like it’s well researched and well explained
Your answer*
@RakeshJoshi example?

Go to my profile and see there

Okay
@RakeshJoshi I’ll read a few at night
Did you do a research in this particular area?
@RakeshJoshi do I see the questions or the answers in particular?

I don't know in particular but depends on your area of interest
@TheLittleNaruto

@RakeshJoshi keeps varying I like almost everything
Quite a few are sounding interesting
@RakeshJoshi would be nice if you send one to start with

2:14 PM
@Archit What about it?

Most of them were very controversial ... the ones on geeta for example. Not much of public acceptance because they are sentimental about it and have grown reading it..
Then there was one on sankaracharya and crypto Buddhism... which created heavy controversy but later on many vaishnavas supported it.
Then there was about other vedanta Acharyas like ramanuja. And overall on vedanta school itself

Q: Does kanyadaan have a Vedic sanction?

Rakesh JoshiIn a traditional Hindu marriage, the bride is 'gifted' to the groom by her father Like Godaan (gifting of cow) bhudaan (gifting of land) etc women are treated as objects that can be gifted away ! Infact in many places, the this act of 'gifting' of the girl to the groom is what a marriage is? Eve...

@HinduFeminist @Archit

@RakeshJoshi Good that I learned it.

@TheLittleNaruto No no I meant votes like his

@Archit Understood 😂
@Archit I agree

I just voted for his parents aspiring for girls one

Great!

@RakeshJoshi didn’t understand how is the groom disassociating himself from taking the gift? Oh Kāma this dakshina is yours?
And how does it mean that he’s incurring a sin and has to remove it with pratigraha
Check this answer as per Apastamba and Paraskara
They’ve got a slightly different translation for the pratgrahana part
12
A: Which scripture describes the procedure for an ideal marriage including how to find the ideal bride or groom?

SarvabhoumaChoosing a bridegroom: From Yamasmriti: One should seek for seven qualities in a bridegroom viz. good family, good character, physical appearance, reputation, learning, wealth and [track record of] support [of relatives and friends]; the other matters need not be considered. Cho...

2:49 PM
Because its not a gift
Pratigrahana is to be done for prayashchitta of receiving daanam

Oh
@RakeshJoshi Does this answer help solve anything?

3:31 PM
You dont think kanyadaan post is worthy? @Archit

1 hour later…
4:41 PM
@RakeshJoshi I voted it’s is worthy
You would’ve gotten 10 check. Long back 2-3 hours ago I had
But did this answer I sent help solve any part? Like the translation of the pratigrahana mantra
They’re talking about Apastamba grihya Sutra and kanyadaan mantra
@RakeshJoshi Tamil teriyuma? Nice

I am not looking for solution but making a statement
@Archit

1 hour later…
6:02 PM

Q: Was manusmriti the Constitution of ram rajya?

Sarvottam mishraIn sarga18 of kishkindha kand Rama explains to dying Vali as to why he gave such a punishment. Rama categorically explains all the question put by Vali in the last chapter from the viewpoint of scriptures(manusmriti) that lay down principle for sanaatana dharma, eternal tradition, as well as raaj...

So basically the point is receiving such a wonderful gift should not cause the sin of taking a gift? Correct?

6:34 PM
The point is first of all its not a daan

6:51 PM
@Archit
And if they say its not literally a daan but just giving is termed as daan then why there should be a pratigrahana following it?

7:27 PM
@RakeshJoshi yes agree 👍👍
