We offered ghee or milk to other Lord like Shiva, Rama in their head. Then why we offered oil on Lord Hanuman's feet?

In "BhagwadGeeta", the Bhagwan says "I am Margashirsha amongst the months". But majority of the Hindu festials and Muhurtas fall not in "Margashirsha" month. In fact, as this Q discusses, "Kartik" month is very auspicious. Then why the Bhagwan says so?
