Q: Has archaeological dating been attempted on Ramayana sites?

a20In India, Nepal and Sri Lanka, there are many sites that are linked with Ramayana. Many are said to have been established by gods themselves. Have there been any attempts to archaeologically date these sites? The events depicted must have happened during or before the establishment of these site...

@KeshavSrinivasan @Mr.Alien hi!

@krishna hey, hiii

wassup bro

nothing much, playing with my phone, what about you?

checking snapdeal, flipkart, amazon offers :P
@Mr.Alien why do you think site can't accommodate questions like hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/3340/…

haha all are waste
@krishna already discussed on meta, we shouldn't accept such, or you will get tons of those
like guys harassing girls, didn't helped, am I guilty? docs will ask I couldn't save a patient, am I guilty and so on

12:22 PM
i believe there may be some answers or at least derived conclusions from our puranas, what do you say?

If you feel that its suitable for the site then you can surely cast a reopen vote, for me, these types of questions doesn't make sense, if the user asks a generic question like is that wrong if we couldn't help a dying jeeva or something similar, but if you support such situational questions then expect tons of these

Hey guys.
@krishna See my answer here: meta.hinduism.stackexchange.com/a/297/36

does the community accept if one reframes his situation with 5wh or significance!
how important are these types of questions on sanathana dharma hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/3358/…
I got tumbleweed badge for my question hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/3317/…

@krishna I think we should have less "What does Hinduism say about X?" type questions and more questions that are well-researched and preferably based in scripture.

my question (hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/3093/…) got no answer where as a specific question (hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/3296/…) got handful answers :)
@KeshavSrinivasan I agree, but question on significance on turmeric got 3 upvotes with no answer!

12:38 PM
hence am saying that we should stop asking such basic questions now, its fine if basic ones are interesting but not worth if users keep on asking such
recently, a user asked, what is a significance of piercing in hindu religion, say wearing rings on nose, ears etc

sanathana dharma is way of life :)
that may actually inspire others to frame equal such questions and we endup only with these questions
I asked few questions on past-life & death... i see handful of inspired questions in the following day

hence I wrote this
> lso, am not saying that questions asking for Significance or Importance etc will be closed but I think we need to go a level up now, else new users will continue these types of questions and we will never raise the bar in terms of questions quality.

Yeah I remember your word
I dont see quality questions relating hinduism with other religions, community downvoted most of them

check out buddhism site, you will get it what different type of questions they ask apart from significance type

bye for the day :)

In case people missed it, my first Hinduism trivia question was, what do Shiva, Brihaspati (guru of the gods), and Sukracharya (guru of the Asuras have in common? My second question was, what do Vishnu, Shiva, and the Pandavas have in common? And my third question was, who is Kumbhakarna's mother-in-law?
Now here is Hinduism trivia question number 4: what do Krishna (the avatara of Vishnu) and Padmavathi (wife of Venkateshwara) have in common?
