@J.J probably not before you learn some concepts that belong within processor architecture like register handling, paging memory handling in general and threading (multi-, hyper-)
@HamZa and I'm not 100% sure, but what I'm missing in the story are bug bounty programs that are limited in scope
and also @JourneymanGeek did you kick/ban forest? O.o

@TomK. well we did

sigh

Thought reading up - it really feels like Forest's version of the events seems economical with the truth

it always is ;)

He has an issue with how we run chat. Keeps going on and on about how unfair or puritian we are with language. We asked him nicely to drop it a few times

8:09 AM
I don't intend to re-read it, if you decided to do it that way, then I'm fine with it.
I trust you (and Rory I guess) enough
just sad that the chat will go kinda silent now

I mean you guys have some idea how I do things
Oh that was on MSE chat

yeah, but we also have some idea how forest does things <:

Different server

so not here?

MSE and SO have their own chat servers

8:18 AM
ah ok. yeah I knew he was banned there, but I was wondering if he was banned here as well
because 30 hours with no sighting of forest are quite seldom
good to know, thanks for the info though

@TomK. Alrighty. I am not sure how much the SLAE goes into that so do you have a link to a good place to read up on these things?

Anonymous
9:52 AM
@TomK. huffs

Anonymous
Are you really going to make me search through this to find the things I need? :(

it's just.. this is such a huuuuuuge topic
you should probably start by learning about processor architecture

Anonymous
@TomK. So I've drawn the conclusion, formal education probably makes it easier to learn this kinda' thing :p

Anonymous
As I will get all the content in one place.

@J.J you are absolutely correct

10:02 AM
Shame, I cannot afford a university course.

I kinda linked the university library deliberately
you know, studying in germany is free <:

Anonymous
Well, I am not a German citizen.

Anonymous
Nor do I have Naturalisation or whatever you call it.

Anonymous
^ that is not the right word, I don't think.

doesn't matter

Anonymous
10:05 AM
Really?

yup, you just have to get a visa - which is relatively easy for students
friends of mine studied here for 10 to 12 years without being german citizens
for free
:)

Oh..

10:22 AM
@TomK. eh. While we don't discuss suspensions, I can totally state for the record that he isn't suspended here as far as I know

@JourneymanGeek yeah, as I said. I trust you and the other mods in your reasoning, so don't understand my question as scepticism.

Anonymous
Oh I thought Forest was suspended here!

Anonymous
I was about to cry, he livens this chat up :p

@J.J .... Fine. Let me check

:p

10:30 AM
I like Forest!

Anonymous
He's cool!

Anonymous
Outspoken, but cool. Also, I am outspoken too sometimes :p

Ehhh :p
We disagree on a few things...
Some of which are kinda my business :p

Anonymous
Yes, and I disagree with you on the no swearing thing but I am not suspended :)

Anonymous
I'm not saying he did nothing wrong.

Anonymous
10:31 AM
Just sayin' you can disagree and still like someone.

Anonymous
:D

Well I'll totally warn ya. And probably bail you out if someone flags a months old swear to get you suspended

Anonymous
:) I think flagging swears is quite honestly pathetic.

Anonymous
Maybe it's just a British thing but we swear in the office, the directors even swear so I would not consider it NSFW.

Anonymous
But yeah, I get you.

10:35 AM
It's an issue.
It's rediculous but some folks just want to see the world burn
Personally if it's occasional, impersonal band harmless I don't really care
And not band. Darn it auto cucumber
Frankly the most we do on RA is tease the perp a bit and delete it, prejudice free

10:48 AM
@JourneymanGeek Yeah I guess so.

Wow, I read a question in the HNQ and found that website: jepolitique.fr
Is it just me, or they are stealing SO's design?

Anonymous
@BenoitEsnard Jesus Christ.

Note: the site has a strong political signal, you might want to avoid it at work

Anonymous
Too late.

Anonymous
But, I only went on the first page, plus VPN anyways :p

Anonymous
11:00 AM
Well, not that the latter matters really...

Anonymous
11:16 AM
@TomK. So I found this course - learn.saylor.org/course/cs301

Anonymous
I also found this book - amazon.co.uk/…

11:42 AM
@J.J no time right now

12:24 PM
@TomK. Really? I mean there is no fee at all to study in a University?
If this is so then It is very good initiative

2 hours later…
2:16 PM
@daya sometimes you have to pay a fee of 200-300€ per semester but this typically includes a ticket for the local public transport (which most of the time you would have to buy anyway)
and the university ticket is cheaper most of the time. so it's 300€ every 6 months versus 70€ per month (70€ * 6 = 420€)
how is this a HNQ?

Q: Is data between keyboard and web browser secure from local computer applications?

Devil07My question is about the text that I type on a keyboard while in a web browser. I understand that if the website has HTTPS the connection from my browser to the website is secure/encrypted, but what about the text that I type on the keyboard on the local computer? For example, at an internet ca...

2:59 PM
@TomK. I see
It is far cheaper , I pay ~1600£ per year btw including transport

6 hours later…
8:44 PM
Haven't seen this here on on the site yet: scp client multiple vulnerabilities
> Many scp clients fail to verify if the objects returned by the scp server match those it asked for. This issue dates back to 1983 and rcp, on which scp is based. A separate flaw in the client allows the target directory attributes to be changed arbitrarily. Finally, two vulnerabilities in clients may allow server to spoof the client output.
