I am thinking about deploying some kind of IDS in my home network. I have read about some setups that people are proposing but it seems each setup requires one or more hardware purchases. What I wanted to ask is are there any recommended IDS setups for a small home network? Obviously I prefer open-source and solutions that don't require buying a switch, tap etc. but if some are required, I'd want to know what are my options. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you.
