Darn - I had a hot streak of 61 consecutive days here, but just missed one day. I had so much fun at a dance workshop :) and evidently didn't think to just refresh the "newest questions" tab - I was tired!

@AviD I'm not sure. I like the idea that people can effectively post with some privacy when they have to. But I agree that it would be nicer to know who the general community is
@AviD I've been noticing it a lot more on SF as well. From Jeff's answer, it looks like the SE software already has a fix in place.
Without something harsher, like deleting your account after x days, I'm not sure how much more encouragement one could have than a big red bar staring them in the face.
@packs Wouldn't call what seems to be (per Jeff's description) a one-time prompt a "fix", but it's better than nothing for sure.
@RoryAlsop Non-generic usernames can be just as anonymous while still being unique to the person who uses them. If people are really worried about anonymity, they'd change user accounts between posts.
