@JesseSteele thanks for your input regarding this question. I'm sure many of the requests made of moderators are challenging. Given that the most recent comment on the OP--by the question asker--explicitly acknowledges that the question was asked to criticize the JST, it seems we're well beyond Hermeneutics here.

@JesseSteele I prefer BHSE to CSE because here I can have an academic Biblical discussion and (usually) don't have to deal with unending vituperation from those who loathe my faith...but bringing JST/PoGP in scope here just seems like a way to invite the same behavior on BHSE. The question asker had no interest in understanding John 4:24, just interest in winning an argument that started on another post on CSE.
