Hi everyone, I am currently writing a paper that deals a lot with biblical hermeneutics and interpretation, however i keep on getting stuck when i try to address the biblical authors in my paper.
For example i would like to write, "it is understandable why the biblical authors didn’t feel the need to include in these texts the ethical..." but i do not want to take any sides in the debate between the traditional view of Mosaic authorship vs. biblical criticism which recognizes multiple authors; i dont want to get involved in this at all. period. I do not want to write "biblical author" which would imply that i'm endorsing the traditional view either.
I thought about writing "the bible didn't feel", but that doesnt make any sense either as it is not a person that has feelings. So how can i write this line and many others in my paper without getting involved in this sticky subject? Ideas anyone?

@Bach What about something like, "It is understandable why the narrative/text doesn't include the ethical ..."?

@enegue indeed i could. But in this case "didn't feel the need to" would be inappropriate to use, but i think in my sentence it would be more desirable to include these words.
But i will definitely keep it in mind. thnak you
