Q: Did Peter read Paul's Epistle to the Galatians?

C. Stirling BartholomewIn another forum, a question was raised about 1Peter today which implied that the author of 1Peter was familiar with Paul's Epistle to the Galatians. Assuming w/o argument that 1Peter is authentic (not interested in that topic) what evidence do we have that the author of 1Peter was familiar with ...

I'm not really following "off-topic" here.
"Too broad", OK, maybe, but is it, really?

Q: Why is the Septuagint (LXX) significant?

CalebWhat is the LXX and why is it so noteworthy that there is a Greek translation of the OT? Wouldn't it be better to reference the Hebrew original?

I'm just sayin'....

@Tau Hehe. I actually figured out what I was trying to figure out anyway, so never mind. (It involved navigating this site while updating an answer to your question. Fortunately there was an alternative, to decipher bits of the Greek uncial in order to find the correct place, which took me forever but was a good exercise.) Thanks!

@Susan Me either...
I voted to reopen. I see this question a fully on-topic. It falls directly under the category of "① the history of that biblical text itself" (here, 1 Peter), that is, did the original author know about Galatians or not. It is a historical question about the context of the initial writing of the text, which is part of what is directly on-topic for the site. — ScottS 34 secs ago
