If you're curious about Dahood in general, you could see the extended comment/review by Peter Craigie in vol. 1 of the Word Psalms commentary. He was a sympathetic critic, and well able to sift Dahood's ... ahhhh ... maverick (sometimes wacky!) readings.

@Susan Less now than it was mid-20th C. And by "like that", if you mean like Dahood - he was a bit sui generis!

With him it was something of a modus operandi (possibly vivendi) - why read the Hebrew Bible as Hebrew when you could read it as Ugaritic? (Or Phoenician - or Eblaite!)

Yep - one of my teachers reckoned that if what 10% of what Dahood suggested was true, that would be a lot (and far-reaching) - but I don't think anywhere near that has had acceptance by later scholarship.

@Tau For now, Google Chrome in Spanish. It offers to translate the whole page. Also translate.google.com.mx/#es/en They aren't perfect tools, but it is the best thing we have.
