I like how Excel gives you the GetPivotData function to get values from a pivot table, but you must resort to UDFs to determine the filter values that define the results. :(

IOW the LSP server knows nothing about a telemetry server
so the add-in client will be the one talking to the telemetry server, I guess. makes no sense to have a LSP -> telemetry pipe when LSP fires these notifications to the client

wait a minute. If you want to have a end to end logging, the LSP would need to tell telemetry it's doing Y based on request X made from the client?
